Can anyone tell me what this might be? I'm thinking incense burner...or maybe an ink well. I'm pretty sure it's bronze and old. It has a raised Oriental (Japanese? Chinese?) landscape design around it. There are two handle-type pieces...one on each side. The lip extends out a bit. On the front, it appears that part of the lip is missing. I can't tell if this the way it's supposed to be or if it was broken. It's about 2 1/2 inches tall. Any help will be appreciated.

(You left off the slash at the end --[/img])
I think most incense burners had air holes partway down from the top but could be wrong. This is a cute piece. Is there a separate saucer at bottom or is that part of the piece?

Yes, there's a saucer but it doesn't really "go with" the item...I'm going to throw it in as a "bonus". The saucer attracts a magnet and has some oriental symbols on the bottom but they look like a different "style" than the design on the item. Thanks, too, for fixing the 3rd photo...I was wondering what happened to it!

The Japanese have water dropper for caligraphy needs, usually a larger hole to pour the water in and a small tiny sprout somewhere to pour the water on a dish to be mixed with inkstone and they are about 2-3 inches.
