Last year someone gave a link to a site that shook your screen when an earthquake happened anywhere.
Gave the link to DH because it would not work on my Windows ME.

Bottom line..we both have new computers and I would like to put that on mine as earthquakes are of interest to me especially as we live in an earthquake/tsunami zone.
I have googled everything I can think of and just cannot find it!

Can anyone help!

Ok...it seems no-one can help me in my quest.

Who is the member who used to give us such great info on storms etc..maybe it was that person.
Is it possible to search Vendio forums for topics past?

This is one of those things that will nag at me until I have that little baby just shaking my display.

Sparkz - he's been MIA for some time, I miss him!

Otteropp: Yes, it was Sparkz. We ALL miss him! Now, my husband has a site bookmarked that shows him where earthquakes have occurred, how far they are away, and what strength they were. (Doesn't shake the screen, though. We have to feel a little one, happens often, and then he'll go to the site and check it out. Or he'll just browse if he has time.) He isn't here at the moment but tomorrow I'll ask him for that link. At least you can get some information that way.

Okay, Otteropp. Here's my husband's message:

This is the page I use to watch earthquakes on the planet:

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.php

This is the custom page I use to monitor our area; a similar one can be created for any latitude & longitude coordinates, at least within the US:

Thank you for the links..they are great. I have bookmarked a US Govt. site for the Pacific Northwest which would also affect us. I also have one for Vancouver Island which is where we live. We look over the water to the Olympic Peninsula from our windows near Victoria.

I watch them a lot as we are supposed to slide into the Pacific ocean one day.

This week our town is putting up some new signs along the highway... 'WARNING..Tsunami Zone'
Well..that should scare away the tourists!

I have this bee in my bonnet that I absolutely have to find the 'jiggling site' and I am sure you are correct that it was Sparkz who told us about it. Just WHERE is that man when we need him, his posts were so great!

hey otteropp
didn't know you were on Vanc Island. I was raised in Victoria. My father was a chef at the Empress Hotel. Moved to Fla years ago and like the climate much better. Hope you find the quake site you want. neva

The only software I've been able to find is an add on for Firefox. See link below:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2239/

If anyone finds one for Internet Explorer, please post here

niel35..great to hear from another Islander.
I was raised in England and moved to Calgary. Lived there for 21 years but missed the green grass and ocean so moved to the Island in 1988.

Darn...looked at that Firefox add-on and that is exactly what I was looking for but for Explorer.
