Any recommendations for websites to sell at now that Yahoo Auctions is closing in June? Anyone had success at any other than Ebay?

Ebay , I saw on the info commercial the other night - ya can make thousands a month with no more than 15 hrs a week work.

Several REAL EBAY SELLERS even testified how they had so much free leisure time and made thousands.

One question though - WHAT am I doing wrong . I work my buttocks off!

Those ebay sellers are professional actors.
In hindsight,I should have gone into selling cameras,PC,copier, scanner etc when the going was strong.
Even selling bubblewrap, tapes and boxes were good business on Ebay.
Or how about books on how I made 200,000 dollars in 2 months!

It's going to be a crap shoot from here on in.

I already sell (or better stated list) on Epier. I average 20 sells a year there. The good thing about epier is it automatically relists closed items so you don't have to baby sit your listings until you have a sale or wish to cancel the item.

Avoid Bidville and Ioffer at all costs.

I'd suggest finding a site that specializes in the items you sell. (postcards, coins, etc)

I echo stonecold re ioffer, they messed it up big time last Christmas.

I also list on google, ecrater and blujay. But have never had a sale on any of those. I used them to link to my vendio store or ebay items. My vendio store sales are steady but I have had it a long time.

I am selling on ecrater, started in January and have had 33 sales with 4 going south on me. I am impressed and best of all it is free! So is google checkout until the end of 2007. Bidville is a joke. I had about $800.00 worth of sales a year on Yahoo, but I am having more sales on ecrater in 2007 than on Yahoo, so I am sad about Yahoo, but I am selling on ecrater.

ecrater is a website store. Not an auction site. The theory behind it is good, but so far, it's not working.

I am not sure what my secret is...I never expected to do this well. I have submitted my store to the usual Yahoo, etc. but I think most have found my stuff thru google search. I am guessing that unique items or the title may be the reason.

No, it isn't an auction site, and I don't believe there is anyway to search what items have sold. Buy it now, works for me and has always been my preference.

Surprisingly, eCrater is #4, as far as listings go. Clean interface too.

ecarter does not allow you to build your brand. If you just want to throw items up on the net, I guess it is Ok. However, when I search the name of an ecarter store in google, nothing comes up.

Try ecrater instead of ecarter. I just checked the charts on ecrater. It's way up. Interesting

ecrater, ecarter, or ecartor, the results are the same.

Google your store name and see if it comes up.

You have no brand under ecrater, ecarter, or even ecartor. The only brand that exists is "ecrater."

I googled my store name and my ecrater store is top on the list, followed by yahoo, a club I belong to and then ebay! If you are new to ecrater, it might take a few days to get hooked up. Mine shows up on google and so does my unique items.

I am thinking of trying craiglist for larger items. A friend sold a king size bed there - it only took 2 weeks and she had listed it on ebay 3 or 4 times at a lower price.

I searched on Yahoo. All of my auction sites show up, except ebay. But no ecrater.

I then searched google. My ecrater showed up second and all of the auction site after that, again except ebay.

Oops, almost had my foot in my mouth. The third page of results I show up with ebay.

We sell very little on eBay now. We have a store on the GoAntiques site. It is likely not the cheapest way to go but it is not difficult to work with. Our plan is a flat $35 a month and 10% of the selling price. There are other plans that are more and less expensive. There are no listing fees and we can have as much stock as we want. Neither of us depends on this income for survival so it works fine for us.

Many of our items come up very high in Google and we have several web sites related to the types of collectibles we sell that link to the store. I also keep a site with our inventory grouped by category. My main complaint (aside from the 10%) about GoAntiques is that your items are listed by the date they were added.

With a little extra work I could make our inventory site, now just a thumbnail and title linked to GoAntiques, into a full-fledged store but we have no way of knowing how many of our buyers find the item in the GoAntiques search. We tried asking in a follow up email but did not get a lot of response.

Does anyone have experience with Ruby Lane or TIAS?

Does Yahoo shopping still feature Go Antiques on its home page?
There are many interesting items on Go but the photos are horrible.

Hwahwa, I beg your pardon! The pictures on GoAntiques are as good as the seller makes them. We have gotten complements on our pictures from byers.

There is quite a bit of cross promoting with several other antique sites.

All eCrater listings should show up on Google Product Search (formerly froogle).

They have an interesting arrangment with Google. I think google might be using eCrater as a springboard for Google Checkout.
