to see what comes up. #299094318955. This is an auction of a 2006 Hummer H3. My friend is anxious to purchase a Hummer(why with the gas prices would anyone want one) so she has been searching on Ebay. She just started buying on Ebay, very low feedback behind her name. She sends me an email with the auction link to check it out. I couldn't not pull it up either thru Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer therefore I am thinking scam as the lights and whistles are going off in my head because the buyer contacted her off Ebay, when she asked him a question about the car and wants $8,700.00 for this Hummer deposited directly to his bank account.
SO can anyone try to pull this auction up to see if it legit. Now the clencer is that she can bring it up on her laptop but I couldn't bring it up anywhere in my home or another friend's home. I totally think that this is a scam. I asked her to write to Ebay(gave her customer service email address) to inquire about this person and this so-called auction.
NOTE: She is a very stubborn person so even though I told her that I believe that it is bogus, she doesn't believe me. I hate to see her get ripped off.
can anyone with major computer knowledge explain to me how she can bring up this bogus auction but I can't. Did this buyer put some info into her computer to make it appear that this auction is indeed on Ebay?
thank you, Geez, I was long winded today!!!

Ask your friend to tell you seller id and look him/her up - and then look at listings?

Red flags should be going up on this deal for sure. Usually if it seems to good to be true, it usually is. If she is stubborn enough to go for this deal, she is certainly going to get burned. He is in violation of eBay's rules just for asking her to do the deal off eBay. Shouldn't this type of vehicle sell for at least $20K? And to deposit it directly to his bank account??? SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!
You probably can't get that number to come up because eBay has probably already eliminated the auction due to it being a scam.

Seller ID won't help if he hacked someone's account.

How does she bring up the item on her laptop?
Did she click on a link imbedded in email?
That could be off ebay.

yes, she can still pull up this so called auction imputing the numbers directly on Ebay on her laptop. I can not. I should make her try to do on her husband's maybe then it will sink in that it is bogus and get him in on it.
I did try to show her that the other 2006 H3's were going for $20,000. or more.
Like I said she is stubborn and seriously doubted me(been buying/selling on Ebay since 1998), she a few months buying.
I check the person's ID - Lommodey, big fat zero when I pull it up on my own and an unregistered person, 13 behind his name in this bogus email. It is like he cut & pasted this auction page.
I know that there many types of scams out there but this is the first up close and personal for me.
Thanks for checking it out.

may be this seller should apply for a job with MSFT or GOOG,how did he do it ?
I can understand why your friend is so stubborn,a dream car at a dream price just for her eyes only!
Let her learn her lesson,a costly $$ loss is always the best lesson which will sink in.

could be she was swiftly redirected to a fake ebay page.
here it is:
http://www.ebaymotorssucks.com/iiwasp-com-2.htm
If you're feeling VERY brave tell her to send you the url cut and pasted from the webpage she sees the auction at. Read all the way down to the bottom of the above page...it says "Malicious Sites Like The Above Can Set COOKIES, TROJANS And KEY LOGGERS On Your Computer!"

Have her do a seller search and she'll see this:
We are unable to return search results because this seller's account has been suspended. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thank you All . I just finished a phone call with my friend after reading most of my email(left out info about her being stubborn) and read her responses. She agreed to leave it alone and run some virus scans on her system. No she never looked at this infamous email from this person on her husband's computer.
Thank you again for your help. As always, it is invaluable.

She also better change her password on Ebay. Sounds like she may have clicked one of those phishing links.

She did change the password last night before I left her home. I suggested that she do it right then before this person went in to steal her identity.
