You guys who are whining about how hard it is to make sales on eBay...you're just not doing it right!

What you need to do is what this guy does: Rig up some amalgamations of faux luxury goods, put high price tags on them and watch the money roll in. I still can't believe some fool paid $750 for a sterling silver Chinese fountain pen with 57 "genuine zircon diamonds!"

(For the uninitiated, those would be cubic zirconia, worth about a penny apiece.)

Maybe they get taken in by the high-flown prose included free of charge in every listing...

Mr. Way-Over-the-Top Pretentious

P.S. Be sure not to miss the cufflinks...those are hysterical.

The only things he's sold (in my limited view of completed listings) are pens and one mechanical pencil. I can't believe his cuff link prices. I had a pair of sterling silver charms bought 40 years ago (as a child) for $5 each. I imagine that is about what they bring today on ebay. He has the same pair sold as cuff links - over $800! C'mon!

Yeah, it looks to me like he's taking conventional base metal cufflinks (50 cents at your nearest garage sale) and poorly soldering on sterling silver earrings or charms. I mean, geez, you can see the solder smears.

Then he dresses it up in -- whatever that rubbish is he's spouting.

I was impressed by the solid vermeil gold. That's such a rare metal. Never thought I'd see it on eBay. Wow.

Zippy, I say everything eventually shows up on eBay, even the "very rare one of a kind" Solid Vermiel Gold cuff links.

They belong in the Smithsonian & so does the guy selling them.

mcjane, you were correct in that he belongs in an Institution but slightly off as to which one.

fLufF, I was just being kind, I'm way off. He really belongs in a nut house. Anyone will do.

Edited to add:
Maximum security of course.

"filigreed floral chest with 360 degrees of viewing pleasure, not including from above"

"filigreed floral chest", an obvious Freudian typo, lol. I think he jumped from describing the cufflinks to describing himself. full-of-greed chest

And just how many degrees of viewing do we get if we include the top view????

Judging from the comments in the book link posted by Zippy, this guy is obviously a paranoid psychotic who is off his meds.

Be afraid, be VERY afraid!

With hundreds of auctions and an eBay account that goes back seven years, that is one heck of a medication problem.

One of my favorite auctions is the one with a cloisonne pen. Monsieur Du doesn't know whether the underlying metal is sterling silver or gold (hint: it's neither) but says it could be platinum, "which would be worth even more!"

Yeah, sure. "Could be" in the sense that if you threw a saddle on my great-aunt Sadie, she "could be" a Kentucky Derby winner.

Seems to me the guy is OFF his meds (as in bi-polar or at least manic)- read the bio and the ebook - he has some serious problems.

I tell you what is unbelievable. This guy started emailing me today on my Waterman pen ads. He thinks $9.95 for an ad is too expensive.

Very strange coincidence.

Excuse me , but don't his auctions contain just a tad bit of EXCESSIVE KEY WORD SPAMMING ? Or is that permitted now?

I always feel in awe of a seller who can be an obvious psycho and still have bidders....amazing !!!
