I received a "question for seller" from a Hong Kong buyer who wants to know how much shipping would be for a 15-pound set of books. I went into My eBay as we're supposed to, and told him I'll research it and get back to him. (The M-bag question I had last evening.)

His question never came into my e-mail, by the way; I just stumbled on it as I was looking at My eBay last evening.

I now have an answer for him on the cost

Since I already sent him a reply this morning, I can't find any trace of his question in My eBay or on the auction site itself, and I have no record of his e-mail address! Don't know what to do next and see no help in My eBay. Anyone?

Odd, I can see all my messages that I have answered in My Ebay by clicking 'my messages'. Even the ones I have answered are still there. Are you maybe looking just at 'new messages'?

I finally found the sent message, but there was no buyer e-mail of course and when I tried "contact" eBay told me I couldn't do that, it was an international contact, which they limit.

So I found one of his current auctions up for sale and gave him his answer through "ask seller a question." Grrr. Frustrating.

Ditto Roadie, been having the same problem with an Australian buyer. He ended up complaining to ebay that I was refusing to communicate with him. Heck, I sent him 3 emails through ebay and then finally sent him an email directly. Ended up with an NPB because of the mix up.

I am also getting pretty fed up with email delays. I have noticed that it sometimes takes 4 to 5 hours before ebay questions are delivered to my server mailbox.

Buyers are impatient and that type of delay is often enough to drive them to your competition. I have started checking My Ebay for questions and responding without waiting for the email notification.
