So, as I understand it, all a buyer needs to do is put a bid on an item with the BIN price as his top price and he is guaranteed to win the item? Perhaps at the opening bid? Why would anyone BIN instead of bidding?

I was going to call this guy and ask him.After looking at him and reading his name,it would probably be a long distance phone call to Bombay..

I don't know on this one. Seems that one of the best reasons for a seller to use a BIN is to start early bidding. The best reason for the bidder is that they won't lose out on the item but may get it for less. If the BIN stays - why bid??
