Does anyone know if there has been a big increase of core listings since the "slash" (eBay's term not mine) in final value fees. I know it has made no difference in my listing habits, and I am wondering if it has affected anyone else. I guess on high price items it makes a difference, not on my little items.

I wonder if this is all we are going to get this summer instead of reduced listing fees?

Listings are at a new low for recent years. Just over 11 million last time I looked.

I think we got the Playground (I absolutely HATE the new search) and the --dorphins instead.

Actually, this week has been pretty good ... had more hits and new watchers yesterday than in a long time. Sometimes, fewer listings work in your favor, but no, the slashed fees haven't done anything for me or impacted my bottom line.

Amber,

The discount they are providing doesn't affect the items that end at a high price. The discount, if you read carefully, only affects the first $25.00. The discount amounts to pennies on each one - and not dimes or quarters either - but literally pennies.

Fluffy posted on this when it was announced and no one really reacted to just how silly this is to individual sellers. I bet it doesn't have a positive effect on the "vibrance" of the "venue" at all.

Thanks, I didn't realize it was only for the first $25, I should have read it more carefully. I can't imagine anyone is going to rush to list hoping for a reduction of fvf's, certainly not me.

Ebay is a publicly traded company and Wall Street analysts have been giving Ebay a neutral at 33 dollars a share.
No one is expecting firework from Ebay and Meg has sold some of her holdings ,first time in 4 years.
I really think Ebay should decide on its Ebay store, either spruce it up or shut it down, many sellers just use it as a storage room.
When I go to the stores and look, they are usually items which cant sell in auction-wrong color, overpriced or both.
