I've google searched but came up with nothing. Does anyone know anything about this artist and where I can find more info about him/her? Thanks!

This is from the British site.

"AT 35, THE Swiss-born Iwan Wirth is one of the most powerful art dealers in the world. Last year he was ousted from top dealer place in ArtReview’s Power 100, but only by a legendary figure heading towards twice his age, Larry Gagosian. In this year’s list, just published, he may have been bumped down a few places (by French tycoon François Pinault and a resurgent Charles Saatchi) but you can be sure this blip is temporary. The apparently boundless expansion of the Wirth empire continues by stealth. He already has three prime-site international galleries: in London’s Piccadilly, Zurich and New York. In May this year, he added the vast Coppermill, a former rag warehouse off Brick Lane, where he opened with a Kippenberger and Roth exhibition."

Sorry, I don't know how to make it clickable

I think it's actually Kurt Wirth - he sold what must be a similar watercolor in 1995 (another girl in Swiss costume) but there is no illstration:
Ed tp add: It's this one that is similar I believe: Kurt Wirth
Walliser Trachtenmaedchen, 1944
Sold: Oct 26, 1996

It seems he was better known for his op art (MOMA has some Swissair work of his).

Here is a bio:
Well-listed artist Swiss Kurt Wirth was a painter, collagist and illustrator. He taught at the School of Art of Bern. He also collaborated with choreographers, and designed posters, coins (including one to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Albert Einstein's birth) and stamps. Kurt Wirth's poster designs are included in the Collection of Carnegie Mellon University. Wirth's bio apperas in the Biographical Lexicon of Swiss Art among other art directories.

Neglus...are you just naturally brilliant or do you have an inside track on finding information? Thanks SO much...this is the guy! I wonder why he didn't show up on my google artist search? I clicked on the site you mentioned but, unfortunately, you have to subscribe to find out auction selling price...I've got 4 of the pictures so will try to find an alternate way to ascertain value. Appreciate your usual kindness and help!

LOL - not at all brilliant. I think Google filters searches (like ebay is experimenting with) - I first used "swiss artist wirth" to get some results and then "Kurt Wirth" etc - went about as far as I could (even searched Swiss sites since I kind of know DH's language but didn't find any more).

I just searched "Artist" then clicked on "W"...didn't even think of the logical search..."SWISS artist"...duh! I did e-mail the art site to see if they'd give me some hint as to value but not expecting them to tell me that "subscriber only" info...but one never knows. Thanks again...the prints are really quite nice I think! I still go with the "You're brilliant" assessment!
