my beloved sony mavica needs replaced soon. i really liked the feature where the pix stored to disk. of course, floppy disks are now getting hard to find, at least around here.

any recommendations? if humanly possible, want ease of use for hubby and full featured for me.

I use a sony digital. DSC-F717 camera. You should be able to pick them up on ebay for around $200 to $600.u.s. second hand. I have taken over 14,000.shots with mine. It has a great feature where you can bend the body of the camera to different angles to the lense. Great when you cannot get right above the object you want to photograph. I do highly recommend this camera.

oh the next model to the F717 is an F818.DO NOT TOUCH THIS ONE. It has a color problem

When these cameras came out , they were about $1,000.u.s.

I purchased a Kodak Z612 several months ago and I really like it. Has a 10X zoom - takes video as well as stills and the ease of use is great. Retail was $400.00 and well worth it.

Vintagepostcards...My sister also had a Mavica and had bought a whole case of 200 discs which she gave to me...Lucky me-my Mavica is still going strong! There's NO way I'll use all of these discs so would be happy to send you some. If you get in touch ([email protected]), we can make arrangements and I'll be happy to ship you off some if you'd like.

I recently purchased a panasonic lumix dm-fz50 with 12x optical zoom. We really love it. You can just snap and click or do more involved things with it too.

Ditto the F717 recommendation. Great camera and gorgeous Carl Zeiss glass. Mine is 5 years old and still using it's first battery.

I'm on my second old Agfa 1680, and I do love the swivel function on it -- priceless. That's a fab feature that would swing me in the direction of the F717 right there.

When you get ready to buy check out
http://techbargains.com/index.cfm

Every day are new deals but you can search within their site too.

I bought a new computer from Office Depot for $199 after rebates and a couple of days later I found 2gb of memory at TechBargins for $20.00 per gb after a $40.00 rebate with free shipping.

PLUS I got $5.00 off for using Google Checkout. LOVE Google checkout - it was the first time I used it and it's great!
