I think ??? is the way Chinese characters "translate" to western alphabet. Take a look at ebay China: http://www.ebay.cn/index.shtml

See my response to another post about a Chinese bidder. This is exactly what my questionable bidder's address looked like. I even forwarded it to eBay as it seemed really odd. My auction actually went well...the guy paid and I did get a "legit" address from PayPal. Think it must be a Chinese translation problem but it IS disconcerting when we get these addresses initially.

Thanks everyone. I guess this is the first sale I have made to China since if was quite a shock to see so many ???s. No response to my invoice yet, so I will see what the actual address is.
