Someone had a problem with a buyer in UK - the guy was trying to get the seller to pay the customs. It worked out if I recall but there was some information there that I could use - now I can't find the post. Can anyone point me in the right direction? TIA

Looks like a newbie that doesn't understand how VAT works on imports from the USA. Might be useful to point them to this useful website for more details on their responsibilities. eBay also say the same thing here...

Actually when I reread the post there wasn't any help for my problem/issue.
I'm really trying find out how long does the UK hold something in customs before they return it.
I have a feeling that the item was picked up or delivered but they didn't update the site.
I shipped a 100% glass lamp to the UK on the 9th of August. The tracking showed that they attempted deliver on the 17th - no further information. I wrote the winner and have not heard anything back after 1 1/2 weeks.
I took paypal for a confirmed address and insured the package for the full value, but I'm concerned that if it's returned I won't be covered for the return shipment.
The buyer has 12,000 positive FB = 4,000 unique - 99.99%. They buy only high dollar items and spend $3,000 or $4,000 with one seller sometimes. I can't image them trying to get over on me with one $400 items but I would love some reassurance.
Is there away to call UK customs?
TIA

How did you ship the item?
Dont waste your money on calling UK customs, call your shipper (USPS or Fed exp etc) and see if they can help you.
If your buyer is not complaining, why are you so worried?may be they picked up the item and everything is fine, with such high feedback, they could be dealers who know what they are doing.

I shipped USPS Priority.
I just called USPS and hopefully they will get back to me soon.
Hwahwa - I know you are right that I should not worry but that's just how I am. I'm going to try to put it out of my mind for now and just hope for the best.
