My preferences at Vendio are that I only sell in the U.S. However, in the past week a person from France and one from Turkey has successfully bid & won two of my Ebay auctions. Any suggestions how to correct this? Thanks

It's your preferences on EBAY that matter, not your preferences on Vendio.
Check the box that disallows people registered outside of where you're shipping. That's on the preferences page in My eBay.

It doesn't seem to matter if your preferences on eBay are checked or not. Mine are US only (and yes, I double checked) but I recently had the same problem with bidders registered in Denmark.
I wrote to eBay to ask about this. They haven't written back yet. That's a surprise.

Just in case we're talking about different settings, do you have it set to "Block Buyers that are registered in countries to which I don't ship?"

If your bidders go to the US site to bid, it won't matter what your preferences are. They still find a way to bid.
On the other hand, I would figure out what the shipping would be and send them an invoice. I ship to both countries and have never had a problem from either one.

There isn't much you can do to prevent foreign bids outside what's previously been mentioned. With the diminishing value of the greenback versus major trading currencies, the USA is seen as a bargain basement for foreign buyers - so expect to see more (not less) interest from international customers. As long as you get paid by a secure method (that isn't reversible) you should be safe so I suggest you welcome foreign bids. Should you wish to dissuade foreign bidders then simply add an outrageously high S&H fee for international sales and that should have the desired effect...
Disclaimer: I'm located in far off New Zealand (turn right at the end of the world) and around 99% of our sales are international.

I find when sells are slow in the USA that international bidders often pickup.
International sales are more time comsuming and risky but if you cover yourself then - why not take them?

What is the best way to cover yourself with foreign sales. What is the safest payment to accept? Is there a way to track the package? Thanks

Western Money Order wired to you is care free on your end but not all country have it. You can check at their website www.westernunion.com. If that country does - just tell the bidder that they can go there and pay you with a credit card. (Do not put this in your listing as ebay says it's a no no.) Then you can pick-up the money order and cash it at the same time in hundreds of places. I use Winn Dixie in Florida but even some BP stations do it.
Or ask for a Postal Money Order to be mailed to you.
I've even had cash mailed to my by registered mail.
Some countries are confirmed by paypal so it's OK to take their paypal but you must ship priority or express to be covered.
I'm sure someone here has more methods that could work as well.

Money in the bank is safest form of payment, but not popular in USA. It is popular in the rest of the world.

Some bidders will use moneygram,it works like Western Union, just make sure there is a place you can pick up the $$,usually some convenience store or money exchange place in strip mall.
(Oh,also carry a gun when you go,Just kidding !).
I just accept Paypal, and take my chances!
As for tracking,it is expensive so an alternative would be insurance. If your bidder does not want to pay for insurance, just bury the premium in shipping.
