HOW do I revise my item description text?! Used to be so simple; I've been back and forth a couple of times on the "revise" page with no luck in finding the body of the text. Could it be the teeny "insert" button?? What am I not seeing? Dang.

Well. Do you have a bid?? Then you have to add to it below.

No, no bids. There used to be a box in plain sight to revise the description. I do not see it now. Am I going blind??

don't panic....
Tell buyers about your item.
To get help: Click
To show or hide optional features, e.g. International Shipping, on this page, click the Show/Hide Options link.
That should be the first few lines of your revise page...click the SHOW/HIDE OPTIONS box...you probably have the DESCRIPTION UNCHECKED
if that is not the cure...I have also seen the first line say something like....
Click HERE to edit details...or something like that

Jeez, why is this so hard? I've searched - again - on the revise page. All I can find is that eBay wants me to CREATE AN INSERT and NAME IT. Huh?? Where will this insert show up on the auction page?
rhpepsi: I see no "click here to edit details" that will include editing the description text itself.
Has ANYONE HERE revised an auction recently?

I believe you just go to the part you want to change in the description and highlight it to delete or change. If you just want to add, just click by the spot you want to add it and type away. This is only for the description part. Everything else is shown in check marks.
Try that and see if it works.

On my AUCTION PAGE (ITEM itself) I have
You are signed in
Send to Online Auction | Send to Fixed Price
Revise your item | End item
Sell a similar item
Create shipping discounts
REVISE YOUR ITEM.....this appears on every item I have...as long as I am SIGNED IN under the correct ID

Roadie,
It looks like the Revisions page is screwed up. I just tried it so I could give you some directions and my pop-up page will only show about half of the options. GRRR!
But you can try this anyway. Maybe you will get lucky.
Go to your auction page and click REVISE
On the next page, starting at the top, you should see SELL: REVISE
The next line should read:
Tell buyers about your item.
To get help: Click <link>
To show or hide optional features, e.g. International Shipping, on this page, click the <Show/Hide Options> link.
Click on SHOW/HIDE and a popup screen should open. On this screen you can select the "features" that you want to show while editing your revision.
If that does not work (mine did not!)
Scroll down to your DESCRIPTION. Next to the word Description, you should see * and a pale blue icon ? in a circle. Click on the icon. It should open a pop up with options. just toggle any of the options and see it it makes your description appear.
If that does not work, toggle Standard/HTML. Is there anything showing when you click on HTML?

Just revised a few this morning through listings, and got description box as usual. Doesn't end within 12 hours, does it?

roadsmith...this doesn't happen to be an item that you had multiple pieces of ..is it? Because if you had even sold 1 piece from this auction, you can't go back and change the title or description. Once you have sold an item from the multiple piece listing...your REVISE choices are limited.

Are you saying that you see your description? It's there on mine but you have to use the up and down arrow next to the description area to see it all.

That's it, eBabes, you have to use the scrollbox but you can click anywhere in the scroll box to revise.

Leave it to ebay to make something easier and not tell us what they changed!!!
It took me awhile the first time too.

It has become very difficult to do now. When you click the revise link on your auction page, it will take you to a useless confirmation page. In the upper right hand corner, there is a "edit listing" icon. It don't look like an icon, but that is it. Then the fun starts. There is so much JAVA script that will fly at you that it will likely take you upwards of 20 minutes to fix your listing. Be prepared to close the window two or three times and start over. The JAVA script they use conflicts so much that it will likely lock up your computer or render that window useless.
Good luck.

LtRay--EUREKA, that was it! "Just toggle Standard/HTML. . . ." Thanks so much. HTML was not showing, and when I clicked on it, the entire description text appeared in a big box. Hooray.
To answer some of our pals' questions in this thread: No, this auction doesn't end within 12 hours. No, there are no bids on it. No, no multiple items in it.
So much more complicated now than before. But what else is new?!
If some of you want to see what I was seeing on that revision page, click on "Standard" and it shall be revealed. Nada, nothing, no help, no suggestions. What would we do without each other's help here?!
