I used to never have trouble using OpenOffice spreadsheet to work with downloaded eBay files. The last three times, it has encountered a corrupted record and truncates the file at that record. I then have to download to the puny Microsoft Works spreadsheet, identify the culprit record, remove it and open again with OpenOffice. I'm using OpenOffice 2.0 - is version 2.3 more forgiving? TIA.

An easier solution is to open a damaged or corrupted file in a text editor and repair or replace the damaged section with null data.
If your eBay downloads still contain corrupted data - the best solution is to contact eBay and ask them to sort out the problem on their end.
