Just now I had to repair an auction that had a bid. I'd stupidly left the wrong picture in it -- as fate would have it, a much much nicer piece than the one I'm trying to sell.
Since there is a bid, I couldn't edit the auction and appending an explanation to it would be useless since no one seems to read down that far.
So I created another 1 x 1 pixel file, gave it the same name as the wrong picture, and uploaded it to my server. Ta-da. Wrong picture gone.
You may first want to keep a copy of the wrong picture under a different filename.

It's not a switch -- it was an extra photo. But there are people out there who would claim they were entitled to both bracelets if I'd left it in, even though the description is clear.

EXTRA IMAGE! That 'splains it. I couldn't figure out why you just didn't swap the images instead of creating the invisible pixel.

I've done the wrong picture thing myself. I've also done the wrong description. If it can be screwed up ...I've done it. Not to long ago my husband got a lot of audio books going to a lady mixed in with someone elses order complete with mailing label. The guy was very nice and shipped them on to her for a free DVD of his choose.

A few days ago an eBayer e-mailed to let me know that a matchbook cover I'd listed had ended up in the Precious Moments category. Yikes. I thanked her profusely.
