hi,

can anyone please tell me what some Chinese characters translate to?

it is from a signed modern painting.

I do not know how to post a photo here, but will give it a try...

THANK YOU!

Ralphie is glad to offer assistance, and translates this as:

"Ask hwahwa, bet she knows"

Also...

RALPHIE'S TUTORIAL FOR IMAGE BLISS:

...to post an image:

[img*]theURLofYOURpicGOEShere[/img*]

Don't forget to remove the starry (*) doo-hickies!

For posting a website, just substitue url in place of img

THUS, he further climbs up upon his doggy soapbox and opines thusly:

Yer example image would look thusly:

[img*]http://home.comcast.net/~cherachael/chinese.jpg[/img*]

...remove the starry (*) doo-hickies & VIOLA!

pmelcher:

I just double-checked it & ALL work fine with:

[img*]http://home.comcast.net/~cherachael/chinese.jpg[/img*]

which equals this:

Hit REFRESH on yer browser...

We see the IMAGE perfectly well -- two mauve characters above 3 small red characters boxed in red, against gray background...

It appears that COMCAST has some of BUG that doesn't like REMOTE VIEWING?

If you re-boot yer PC (after clearing cache & cookies) and come back to THIS page, the images don't show...

However, if you type that URL into the address bar & goto the pic, and then come back HERE, the IMAGE is fine again!!!

Have NO CLUE what is going on with yer pic, as I have NEVER seen this before (nor has Ralphie...Have you? He's snoring, so I'll wait until he's done thinking so hard...)

As opposed to BABEL-FISH, Ralphie highly recommends: BABBLING-FISH!

I googled and here is what I found. Looks like you might have to do a bit of research on the characters and see if they match any of yours

How about showing us the painting?

For some STRANGE reason, UBB is having trouble rendering the URL of the pic...

To see the pic:

1) COPY&PASTE the following URL

http://home.comcast.net/~cherachael/chinese.jpg

into the ADDRESS BAR at the top of yer browser
2) Hit ENTER
3) UBB rendering of the pic URL will NOW WORK...

This is just the signature and seal of the artist,it could be Chinese or Japanese.
If you show the painting,it could tell you if it is Chinese or Japanese

here I iwll try post pic of painting. Comcast is changing home page, they are driving me crazy with bad pic upload links.

I understand it is a signature of the artist, I am looking to find out how would his name translate to English?

I think this is well done, it was purchased at a Gallery many years ago, I would love to find out who the artist is...

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

This looks like a japanese shishiki?? I cant recall the exact name, but is it handpainted on a square board with gold trim along the edge?
It is usually handpainted by some modern artist ,copied the design from way back and signed and sealed, they are nice but not worth much, you can get them in tourist shops and airports of Japan.
