"We haven't even released an eighth of what we've done," says Billingsley. "That's what excites me. It hasn't even begun."

Oh no.

"The new setup was rolled out with no customer testing."

Uh huh. Should be tattooed on every employee's forehead.

Interesting article. I'm amused that eBay claims it is shifting its view from the sellers to the buyers. EBay hasn't been aligned with sellers for years. It seems like they have gone out of their way to create a hostile venue for sellers. That doesn't mean they have always aligned with the buyers. EBay's main focus has been short-term greed, pure and simple.

I agree pixiamom, ebay has not thought that sellers were their main focus for years. That is why there is a decline on the site. It's still a 796 pound gorilla, but he is going on a diet. 5 years from now, I think it will be more like a 400 pound gorilla. In January 2005, 91.8% of my business derived from ebay. In September 2007, that number was 12%. My overall business also increased 260%, so I am doing a whole lot more business, and a very small portion of it goes to ebay.
