Dear dragons_hoarde ([email protected]),

In order to maintain a safe trading environment, eBay may place selling limits on individual accounts. Your eBay account has been restricted per our Seller Non-Performance policy. You will be able to continue listing and selling items; however, your volume will be limited. The restriction will allow you to sell each week up to 75 percent of your historical weekly volume, based on your 90-day history of completed sales. While restricted, you will still be able to conclude outstanding transactions, resolve issues with your buyers and access email in My Messages. You will also be able to continue to purchase items on eBay.

This restriction has been placed on your account because our records show that you have generated greater than 5 percent buyer dissatisfaction based on negative/neutral feedback and/or Item Not Received complaints in a rolling 90-day timeframe. eBay requires sellers to maintain minimum standards in buyer satisfaction. Our goal is to ensure that the marketplace is a safe and reputable place for our community to buy and sell.

What led to the restriction?

Based on negative/neutral feedback and/or Item Not Received complaints in a rolling 90-day period, your level of performance resulted in greater than 5 percent buyer dissatisfaction.

Buyer dissatisfaction may be caused by:

- Item not received

- Item significantly not as described

- Item shipped late or packaged poorly

- Inadequate communication with buyer throughout the transaction

As a result, your weekly allowable dollar sales have been reduced to 75 percent of your previous 90-day completed sales.

This new policy could kill a lot of us on Ebay.

Even when you do it all correct the buyer may be unhappy with the USPS postal rates and complain to ebay about something the seller has no control over.

Apparently the validity of the complaint means nothing .

Well, let's see how that would affect me.

For purposes of argument, let's say that 90 days is 12 weeks. I sell an average of 200 items a week, so that would be 2400 auctions. Five percent of that is 120.

So I would have to have 120 customers leave negative, neutral or Item Not Received in a 90 day period. That's not going to happen; I only get 1 to 3 negs per month on average, and almost no neutrals or INRs.

So what did you do?

Never mind, answered my own question. Your customers think you're slow to ship.

Looks like you're the same seller as butw.

Well, lets see how that would affect me. I sell about 3 items a week so that would be 12 or whatever. I hate to brag.........
I rarely get a negative and no neutrals. I just keep plodding along.... with no end in sight

Slow holiday mail days are coming . I hate to think what the stars are going to look like after the 1st of the year and I mail the next day or same day if its early enough.

Of course, ebay doesn't take into account all of the good transactions you have completed where the buyer has been too lazy to post feedback.

sthoemke: You have a good point, and we in customer service KNOW a customer is much more likely to let you know when he's unhappy than when he's happy.

bread99: I haven't bought anything from you, but I'm wondering how your communication is with your buyers. I've had a couple of buyers in the last two months who weren't entirely happy, but we resolved it to their satisfaction and mine, and they both left positive feedback.

Just a thought, here, but you might be fabulous at communicating and still run into those cranks.

I'm wondering how you'll arrive at the correct figure for how many items you actually can list before the restriction is lifted. That would take some doing, I'd think!

Well, she doesn't send EOAs, so I think "fabulous at communicating" is probably not on the menu.
