Just curious to see who is listing today since 7 day listings will end on Christmas day. Looking at my traffic reports I had the most traffic in Dec. on Christmas day for last two years so I guess I am listing.

I thought I wouldn't list today (didn't yesterday either) but maybe I will after all. I would guess that at least 75% of the families have all the holiday celebrations on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning and are probably itching to spend by the time evening rolls around. Christmas Day is one of the few days where absolutely nothing is open to compete with online commerce (or are retailers going to get a jump on day after Christmas sales by opening on Christmas Day this year?) I think I will take a look at my traffic reports from last year before I decide. Hopefully we won't have a listing special the day after Christmas (I'd be up for one on the 27th).

I did check my traffic reports:
My highest traffic days in December were 27, 28, and 29 last two years - probably because eBay ran listing sales. My views on 24 and 25 ran pretty much like the rest of the month

I didn't even think about the retailers being closed hmmmm.. I just thought it was interesting that my heaviest traffic in Dec. is Christmas. I guess when I am at the in-laws somebody is always on the computer with someone waiting to get on.

Not me I am to busy sniffing around the leftovers or looking for a good place to nap.

If you list tomorrow or the next day, the items will still be up and available on Christmas, just not closing on Christmas Day and still going on a few days after.

I'm done listing now until after Christmas. If eBay holds true to their word, we should be getting a reduced price listing day shortly their after.

I'm waiting 'til after Christmas too. No good "business" reason...just enjoying the time off and want to take an eBay break.

Off and on, with the emphasis on shipping more than anything.

I have to do some Christmas shopping today. It's too late now to do it online, for the most part.

I've never understood the concept of waiting for a fee sale, unless your margins are really, really slim and sellthrough is poor.

Your first sentence pretty much said it. You can't shop online anymore and still make it for Christmas. Same goes for sellers. If you aint buying, I'm not listing. Best to not list until after Christmas and sell during the after Christmas rush.

Your reasoning is faulty.

I have 139 99-cent no reserve auctions running at this moment. I'm pretty sure the people who have bids on them are not expecting to get them before Christmas.

Your reasoning is faulty.

Statistically over the past nine years that's the way it's been, so I see no reason for that to change this year.

Well, maybe you could take a course in logic or something. All the best.

So how are you all doing? I see auction counts are just above 10 million, a yearly low I believe (medved is useless these days, better charts at powersellersunite). In a break with what I usually do, I'm listing right along.

Seems anything "male" related is getting attention, which tells me the little woman is baking, shopping and decorating, while the big guy is clicking. Interesting.

Not even sure at this point if I will really take advantage of the anticipated FLD (yeah, I still call it that) since listings will no doubt drop into quicksand then and millions will be moved from store to core with a simple click.

Any thoughts from you all out there?

I'm still listing because they're still buying.

Seems I was completely wrong about this shopping season, but as long as I'm hitting my daily revenue goals, I'm thrilled to be wrong.

I am not selling on eBay at the moment but I notice when I check my saved searches that the number of new listings in the categories I search every day are way down.

I am really suprised at how good sales are. I am still way behind in listing stuff but I get Monday off so that will help.

All the sellers of my items of choice must be chilling out under the tree. There is NOTHING new that would interest me to buy so I am adding stuff to my flickr account and scanning stuff with my Christmas present, a tabloid scanner.

I listed to core, and refilled a category in both my ebay and Vendio stores last night. I'll be listing more items to both stores and core tonight.
