I've looked everywhere.
I would like to open another eBay account just for buying & cannot find out where or how to do it.
Every place I look looks like I will be changing my existing account inforamation & I sure don't want to do that. I want to open a second account.
Can someone help.

I believe what you want is . Site map top right of front page...then register to buy,Its the first thing on the page under BUY on the left. You have to have a different e-mail to sign up for each account.

I think it might be as simple as ...make sure you are SIGNED OFF(logged out) of the first account. Then as stated you need a SECOND email address (not mailing) to sign up a new account

There are also "Join eBay Today" links all over ClearanceClarence.com. Takes you directly to the eBay registration page.

LOL FLuff - great idea! How much do you get/registration? We could all set up referring websites and sign up a bunch of new ids and put money in each others' pockets! (Just kidding of course because I am too lazy - but is there anything to prevent that sort of thing?)

I have two accounts, one Paypal account takes care of both.
VD requires an account for each if you sell on two.

Actually, I only get a commission for new registrations, i.e. people who are new to eBay.

Can eBay tell that McJane is registering a second id (check IP address?) or does it look like a new one to them?

I don't know what means they use for verification. If I were eBay, I wouldn't use an IP address; many are dynamically assigned by one's ISP so they won't stay constant over time. If I'm not mistaken, mcjane still uses dial-up, so she wouldn't have a fixed IP in any event.
Far easier to match name and street address to existing records, which is what that credit card is for.

Fluff, I was on dial up for years, but received a terrific forever
birthday/Christmas present (about 5 months ago) from my sister. The Verizon FIOS package which includes TV, telephone & computer, she also pays my Inkfrog 9.95 a month fee.
I did see where you can sign up for another account, but it looks like it would replace the account I already have.
Actually I have a verizon email address and a free AOL and still have the wmconnect dial up email address which I still use for eBay & PayPal.
I'll go back & try to set up another account using the AOL email account.

Did you log out before you tried to register?
Clear your temp files, cookies and cache as well.
You may want to get a second verizon email which I'm sure they offer. aol can be notorious for disappearing messages, and that way, you won't have to toggle between your email server and aol. And do you really still have access to your dial up email? Everyone of my old ones stopped when I did.
You probably also want a second PayPal account. Not tied to anything, so that you can use your credit card when you shop. Just a private account works fine unless you're spending thousands. You won't be verified, but as long as you have a confirmed address, that's all you need.

With AOL,you have to sign on with the screen name you plan to register with Ebay, else it will keep telling you 'you are already registered'.
As for Paypal,I dont think we can have more than one account using credit card.
We can have one personal account and one regular account using credit card, unless you have a business and register under your business name.

brigittlaw & hwahwa, I think that's the answer. I did sign out, but it still knows me as mcjane.
I'll try from my Verizon address.
Thanks very much everyone.

Before you sign on with a new screen name, did you delete your ebay cookie?
see ebay has placed a cookie on your pc,it makes no difference which AOl screen name you use to access Ebay, the old cookie is still there.
This is one way EBay spots shill bidding.
