I'm having the same difficulty that mciane had in an earlier post. Is anyone familiar with the work of Kurt Wirth and estimated values of his prints would be? He's a Swiss artist and most noted for modernistic works. I have 4 prints (all signed and dated 1943/1944) of women in traditonal Swiss costumes. The only sites I could find to find values required enrolling in a service and, since this is the only time I'm likely to have art work, the expense seems excessive. So, I'm hoping some wise Vendioian can offer some guidance. The prints are quite lovely and unusual. Thanks for any help.

Ralphie says he has no idea what the print's "wirth" is, but he thinks the babe is a real SWISS MISS choco-sweetie!

Sorry I can't help. I only know postcards, but to me, it's easier to research original paintings than prints, so much depends on the printer, printing method, etc. My sheer guess is that these should be priced for their decorative value as a set, rather than their collector value. A very attractive print.

blueyes, found this, but it's one of those "pay for info" sites so you won't get any further information unless you sign up.
24 hour access 13.50
one month 29.50
monthly renewal 24.95
This painting is so different from yours that I'm not even sure it's the same Kurt Wirth.

If you have a friend or a neighborhood store that sells prints or does framing, they usually have a book, like the blue book of car values, that list the values of prints. My guy that does my framing has one and will always let me browse through it.If not, you can probably find the book at a Branes and Noble or Borders. Don't need to buy it, just research and return it to the shelves. Kovels books have a print section, but mine is pretty old.

Thanks all. Yes, mciane...I'm pretty sure this is the same Kurt Wirth...From the Google info, he's most famous for modernistic work and did advertising posters for Swiss Air. Because my set of 4 shows various Swiss costumes, I'm thinking they were probably done for the Swiss government/tourism board...They really are quite nice and unusual. Thanks, too, merrie...I do have an art gallery in my neighborhood so will check with them about the book. They're kind of a "local" shop but they may be able to help. Thanks for info and suggestions...
