Those new final value fees are a killer! 12% for stores. I think 10% is exhorbitant. It makes me wonder if it's even worth it.

Looking at the list kinda gives me a stomach ache. The only good part is the free gallery. The new FVF's are just nauseating.

A long time ago I was in the best Antique Mall in Denver. I made good money in that store... but the 10% that the owner lopped off the top combined with cost of merchandise and any discount to the client given and CC fees deducted ... made that 10% loom even larger. There were times I GAVE away 25% on an item. I left the mall and went back to another Mall that did not charge seller fees.I didn't make as many sales or as many large sales but the money I did make was mine.I'm sure we all have simular stories. This is one of the biggest reasons that I keep pumping things on to Ruby Lane. So far sales are reasonable and the cost for me is far cheaper than fee-bay!

There is no doubt looking at this that they are again trying to squeeze the smaller dealer out and focus on the big guns who can absorb this cost of business.

I was hoping they would dramatically reduce the listing fees, but instead they dramatically increased the FVF. Ebay stock is in the toilet and I can see it being flushed even further down the tank. Now when they dangle reduced listing fee days, they are just enticing us to pay way, way up on the back end of the deal. What crap!!

WHAT A HUGE LOAD OF CRAP!! Things looked good as I read until the FVFs. Let's see how many small stores will shut down.

So I am confused about the Powerseller rebate of up to 15%.

Since FVF's are only 8.75" can you apply the remainder of the 15% towards your listing fees so if you are a powerseller you are listing nearly free???

This is what confused me.

From the fees page.

"PowerSeller Discounts

Get up to 15% discount on Final Value Fees (or Transaction Service Fees) when you maintain high detailed seller ratings (DSRs) as a US or Canadian PowerSeller on your eBay.com, eBay Motors and eBay.ca sales."

I need to stop posting before 6 in the morning.

Duh...off your fees. Not off your sales.

I need to go back to bed.

But is a Power Seller still determined by how much money sold in a month or is it now determined by DSR's? I will be O.K. if it is DSR's but screwed if it is sales.

I was EXPECTING a DRAMATIC decrease in INSERTION FEES, instead, they ONLY rolled back to approx. the LAST INCREASE...

PLUS: they DRAMATICALLY INCREASED the FVF's for the poor, misbegotten STORES!

What a TOTAL LOAD of W...

NOW...
I SAY: NOW! Is the IDEAL time for GOOGLE to come in and KICK feeBay's BUTT!

I was hoping Ebay would go to some kind of flat rate fees. Instead it looks like the new rules resemble the IRS. Loopholes and confusion galore.

Meg was smart to leave!!

Hope this link works.

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080129/ebay_fees.html?.v=7

"EBay will also increase fees on some items, including auctioned goods selling for less than $25. EBay's fee for those transactions will rise 67 percent, to 8.75 percent of the final sale price."

It is not just store FVFs that will increase!!

"Incoming Chief Executive John Donahoe told a gathering of 200 of eBay's top North American sellers in Washington that a majority of sellers will see their fees go down, and that the new fee structure is going to be driven by the success of sellers."

Blah, blah, blah!!

Wow, if I list like crazy the savings will buy a can of cat food. Of course cat food just went up again. Getting harder to support these seven cats.

Just wanted to let you know about this new website that pays us up to 36% of the seller's fees whenever we buy something on eBay.

We can also get cash back at other retailers and earn extra cash when other people shop.

Just use the link below to check it out and let me know what you think!

First off a big thanks to NEGLUS for posting this info.

I just ran my Dec. sales numbers using the old fees VS the new fees and I found that

My core listings were almost a wash. So the upside is I am getting gallery FREE Hmmmmmmm....

My store on the other hand is showing that the new fees would have saved me 30% in fees. Hmmmmmmmmmmm......

And there is a 15% credit for being a power seller Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

O.K. Is this a joke or are my 8th grade math skills off?

Anybody else run numbers?

But if your items do not sell, you save money. No gallery to pay for and a very small reduction in listing fees. Since so much listed does not sell, maybe eBay is afraid listings will drop in 2008 and figures that more people will gamble with the reduced listing fees.

That's 15 per cent of 8.75 per cent. Otherwise known as "nothing".

I started to, but then realized that part of December had free gallery, and then there was the 20c listing day, so I quit! Since I use gallery all the time, even if nothing sells for more than 9.99, with 100 listings and 50% sell through, it still saves about $24 per month (unless I added it wrong).
