I was hoping I had stumbled over a pair of Harrison Fishers, but I guess not...

NOT artist signed on front, but, rather PUBLISHER signed!

"1911 SCHLESHINGER BROS"

Can't find it in my ONLY book

So, SORRY to be a constant PITA, but does any PC EXPERT recognize the ARTIST?

Also, somebody posted a link to DEAD POST OFFICES and I cannot find it anyplace! I think I found a GOOD one (CHESTNUT HILL PHILADELPHIA) and need to check it...

THANKS EVERYBODY -- I'm trying to learn as much ASAP, so I don't have to bother the KIND folks here, but...

Tom & Ralphie

No, they're drawings...

From what I've been reading, a number of artists specialized in these drawings of young ladies of the day, and some of these artists are highly collectible...

I was hoping these two were by one of those famous PC artists...

Poor ole LARD-BUTT keeps muttering in his beauty-slumber: "Pot of gold! Pot of GOLD, Daddy!"

Yeah, I considered GIBSON, but, the one GIBSON GIRL pc that I do have was published by the GIBSON ART CO... And CHARLES DANA GIBSON was published by DETRIOT PUBLISHING...

But, yer RIGHT, they do remind me of the: GIBSON HEADS series...

Oi!

I wish I knew MORE...

LOOKS like but isn't. I don't know the artists behind the Schleisinger postcards - maybe Schleisingers are the artists but the stylesare so different. Generically these are "pretty women", "lovely lady", "glamour girl" (I have seen all these terms used ). You might call the second one a "Gibson Girl" with publisher Schleisinger (don't list as artist signed by Gibson or call it an unsigned Gibson.)

DPO link here: http://www.postalhistory.com/postoffices.asp

Can you post a pic of the postmark? The postal history site only shows one Chestnut Hill in PA in Somerset county from 1873-1880, which pre-dates the postcard era and wouldn't be in Philadelphia.

Fairy is ART NOUVEAU not DECO

Chestnut Hill is a residential area of Philadelphia - not sure if it's a suburb or not.

THANKS!

NOW, I'm wondering if that POSTMARK, where it says: "CHESTNUT HILL STATION" is referring to a TROLLEY STOP as opposed to a PO?
