Ok, so I bought the phone batteries for my home phone. Paid. Seller ships them. Takes 3 weeks for them to arrive from Hong Kong - no problem. Says in auction they either ship from the US or Hong Kong.
Batteries arrive. They are the wrong size. Seller refunds my money.
I buy more batteries and *somehow* an identical payment gets made back to these same people PLUS an identical amount payment made to a different seller selling the same thing for the same amount.
I file PP unauthorized payment. PP says no. I ask the seller to please refund my payment and they did.
TODAY when I went to use the PAY NOW button on Ebay I didn't notice that there is STILL showing that I need to pay for these batteries. ???? WTF? I have paid for the THIRD time for these batteries.
So.........just in case you get some loony person that keeps making payments for something - this might be a clue.
I'd already asked the seller to block me the last time this happened.

when a seller refunds the money...the auction automatically reverts back to WAITING FOR PAYMENT(NOT PAID YET)..so if you buy something else or even from someone else...this item will show up to be paid. That is probably why on the last post about this, you had BOTH payments within a second of each other..you paid the new auction and this "cancelled" one

isn't this a programming error? Why should the payment show up as needing to be paid when the seller has refunded?
What is happening is if you're not paying careful attention and scrolling down you're not seeing all the payments you're making at the time. The first seller that needs to be paid after you hit the PAY NOW button takes up the majority of the screen. Any other auction is below the screen unless you scroll down.
I would suggest as an Ebay seller that you mark the item PAID if you refund anybody.
This is crazy!
I'm sure that a lot more Ebay sellers are at least getting paid with this "new improved" system.

I think if the seller actually files a NON-PAYING form to you, there is an option to "cancel" the auction with both of you agreeing. The seller may even get some fees back. I have done it a couple of times in the past where an item is "lost" or broken.Actually make the auction null and void...so it doesn't appear of the PAY list

ah. a quick answer.
"Dear glassgrl,
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to paying for your item.
If money for an item is refunded back to you, then it will default back to awaiting payment in your "My eBay". This is done to allow members to change their payment methods if they need to. If you mark the item as "payment sent" (although that is not the case), then the item will be removed from your reminders.
If you require further assistance, please respond to this message or refer to your help pages.
It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing eBay.
