If a customer buys a product and for any reason says they need to return it and you refund there money so they are made whole again, they havent been damaged or hurt in any way and then they leave you negative feedback, under the new policy you have no recouse to dispute it ?
and then your rating suffers so you cant get the fvf discount and then your penalized on the searches so your item shows way down in the pages !
I mean if you go to walmart and buy a computer and it dosent work you go vback and get a refund, do you then stand in front of the store for ever with a sign walmart is a rip off!!

10 years of keeping my feedback near perfect will be going down the drain i think ebay can buy me out before they do harm to my business

Perhaps when a specific transaction is 100% refunded, the feedback should simply be removed by default.

What a great suggestion! I do occasionally refund 100% but that information is not in my TOS for obvious reasons. I do the refunds on a case by case to keep my 100% positive feedback and think those of us who try so hard to be 'perfect' should be rewarded by not fearing a negative. (Sometimes I do not refund shipping, after all there are dumb reasons for returns!) I have been a seller since 1998 and will probably stay with eBay until I see how it all shakes out.

cantwin is Right On! This idea is going to backfire and it's going to backfire on the sellers.

I get an email from another seller who has a feedback rating of more than 10,000. He says the new system will evenutally make feedback worthless for everyone and that he intends to move in the direction of not wasting his time leaving feedback. Rather interesting thought.

Here are some wild thoughts.
The FB sys worked well in the early days now it has one big problem.
Many sellers & buyers are reluctant to leave FB for fear of retaliation which of course happens, thus rendering the process to a draw.
Some number of eBay employees spend time answering emails to resolve seller buyer FB squabbles with is not a value add task. They could be doing value add work like finding sellers who over charge for shipping in order to reduce FVF fees.

My guess is the FB sys is on its way out and what we have happening on the 20th is the 1st step.

cantwin - You pretty well summed it up!!!
I've been on ebay since 1999 and have 100% FB which I worked hard to keep. Taking this away from me is the worst part of the new system - IMO.
That is why I'm on strike this week. It's the only voice I have right now.

rtpepse - hate to disappoint you but you get no pin and no letter in the mail when you reach the shooting star.

I got way more recognition from my friends at EO than I did from ebay.
