I have to take and unexpected trip next week and since our budget is tight, it was necessary to list some of my antique bottles to pay for the trip. Pretty important that I make some extra cash.
I spent the past several days getting about forty auctions all ready for launch on a 5 day auction using turbo lister. Yesterday evening I was previewing one of the auctions in Turbo and instead of hitting close, I clicked the red x to close the box. Good old Microsoft kicked in (XP) Turbo lister has committed a terrible sin and needs to shut down blah, blah, blah. So of course I have no choice so down it went and I figure I lost the current listing I was working on. I went to bed. This morning, I open turbo lister and EVERYTHING IS GONE!! WTF!
It just opens like it is brand new. This is a nightmare as It is imperative that these auctions end Sometime next week preferably Sunday. If I don't get them up today that leaves me with 3 day auctions which may not be the end of the world but I have never done them.
My question, would there be a folder anywhere on my drive that still contains the listings? Is there anyway to retrieve the listings I spent so much time on already? Not to mention why the hell this happened in the first place. It’s probably Microsoft’s problem, the worlds worst operating system. Any help would be appreciated.

This has happened to me. Try signing in on TL, it might think you are a new lister. I know it is a PITA.

Hi TH,
Yes, there is a database file that should be recoverable and is probably still on your system.
I used to have the notes on how to import it but lost them when my system crashed last month.
I think the file ends in .tlb.
You should be able to open turbo lister, click on FILE and then click RESTORE DATABASE. Click BROWSE to see a list of your backed up files. Restore the one with the highest number.
ie; your_seller_name~9.tlb
If the above does not work, contact Live Help and if you get lucky, you may reach a tech who knows how to use turbo

Try going to "My Computer"->C Drive->Program Files->ebay->turbolister 2->data files
Anything there? I downloaded TL last year but never used it so mine is empty.

Ebay has a TL discussion board. Maybe other users can help you or tell you where to look for your files.

Check this thread out - something with "change user"
http://forums.ebay.com/db1/thread.jspa?threadID=1000647439&tstart=40&mod=1203004548077
and this one. It sounds like the files could be there under "sample file" or another user.

As always you guys are right on. I actually went to the Ebay turbo lister discussion board and found the info on restore database and sure enough, there is a throughhiker.tlb file so I click next and it says "please enter the ebay password for throughhiker.tlb". I do not remember establishing any password for turbo lister so I figure they want my ebay password. By the way, why would I need a password for a file on my own computer? Well of course you know, it does not work so I tried several other passwords I could of used and none work.
This is nuts.

Do you have an administrative password on your computer? If so could this be what it wants?

No, I do not have an administrative pass word. I have no idea how to open this file.

On TL, click change user and type in your ebay name and password. When the TL crashes it defaults to a new user.

Bless you. I don't drink but if you were here and so desired, I'd buy you a beer. :=)

I'm not sure what was/is down but I still don't have my pictures and my auctions end today. I never used gallery but now that they are giving it to us it would be nice if they hadn't taken it away.
I just don't get this kid of glitch. Why do some have pictures and some not? Makes no sense.
Peace,
Don
