This would probably be a good time for everyone to check their preferences again. Ebay has a habit of changing them for us and it sounds like they probably did it again.

I just went to check mine, and it is now under "Marketing tool", Item promotion. I love the phrase "You can choose to have your items promoted with other sellers' similar items on certain eBay pages and in emails. This benefits all sellers because it gives all the items more exposure and increases bidding on eBay."
I would say that it benefits eBay, not all sellers, certainly not the seller who's auction it was and is trying to sell more of the same or similar item.

I concur with Pixi. There no longer is the option of teaming up with another seller. Your only option is now to promote your competitions items if you want your items to show or to block all cross promotions.
This has become a no brainer. No more cross promotions. I've now blocked them all.
When will Ebay leave enough alone?
For anyone who thought they have their preferences set and it's been three months since you last checked, you better do it again. Ebay defaulted everyone to cross promote.

When I checked my preferences, it said that cross promotion was for my items only. Is this true or no? If true, why wouldn't you want it?

If it says it's for your items only, then you are sharing your items with others. Then the other sellers get to have their items cross promoted in your listings. Taking potential customers away from you to your competition.
