Just was notified that "somewhere" where my Paypal card was "possibly" used was compromised. So, Paypal took it upon themselves to cancel the card. Only way to access funds is a 4-5 day bank transfer and wait for new card. I guess this is a sure fire way to HOLD funds...
Funny..I only use it at the post office and on stamps.com.

That happened to me once. I called Paypal and they said there was a whole batch of cards they suspected may have been compromised so they had to cancel and reissue them all. I had a feeling they suspected a possible security breach on their end.

Hello all!
I am a long time reader of the boards ( about 2 years...lol) but I have never participated.
This happened to us several months ago. PayPal called us and informed us that there was fraudulent activity involving the use of our card. They said they were canceling the card and that a new one would be issued.
Three months later and I still do not have a card. I called them only to find out that even though they canceled the card I had had for three years that I must again re qualify for a replacement card. This translates into a six month waiting period or several purchases using the credit card on file with them. The same card that has been on file with them from the beginning.

Hi
I buy very often on line and use my paypal debit card as a credit card. Well I saw a change to my account and didn't recognize it (because I had forgotten the company name that was going to be used to make the charge}
So I called paypal and told them I didn't recognize the charge so before I could say another word they canceled my card.... Then I was told I had to apply for a new card and give them a credit card that matched my home address for the billing address. Well the only card I had was my daughters card with her married name was on it but they said if the address is the same then I could use it.
So I had to put it on file and then once they verified the address then I could take the card off of file. So I took the card off my account the next day.
Within 2 weeks my new card came. This is the way it worked for me. I caused my own problem because I couldn't remember the charge that was made I thought someone had gotten my card number and used the card but I was wrong.

Years ago Yahoo Technical support advised me -if I want my fund transfer faster than 3-4 days,do not register your bank account,instead register with your bank debit card,it takes half the time to have the fund deposit.
I think the infrastructure of processing credit card/debit card is newer and faster.
I have never tried it.
