Maybe another "Test".
I see ebay charging for completed searches one day. Don't they already have something in place to charge for searches over 2 weeks old?

I've seen that comment for years. Usually when I'm looking at auction only or buy it now only in current items and then I click the completed auctions box. I think it just means they don't seperate completed auctions that way. When you look at complete you are seeing bin and auction results - you can't just pick one of the two.

There is "Marketplace Research" where they'll let you look back up to 3 months. There are monthly charges; I don't remember exactly what it is, but something like $25 to go back 3 months, $15 to go back 2.

I almost never search by auction/BIN but I did today while checking out the new Search. Guess that explains it.
The message wetn away once I logged out and then back in.
The new search totally stinks!

I am confused about the completed search. I tried checking completed search and looking for an item and all I get is a blank screen. How do you search for completed (or active).

Parkman, you have to be logged in to ebay to search completed listings.
Probably the easiest way to view completed listings is to type in your search query in active listings and then when it returns the search click the "completed" box on the left side menu.

Search is not working at all today, check it out, must be the new program has a glitch and it always happens on weekends. It's like going to a hospital on a weekend , short staff , no tests until monday.
