A "slightly" slanted article! Donahue "personable" - I've yet to see it!

The comments are interesting - one of the largest postcard dealers ("stefano" - ebay "SCVIEW" indicated he will be gone at the end of the summer (to DEL CAMPE).

Interesting read but opens more questions than it answers. One of them is, if eBay is striving for a fixed-value format, why the 99 cent promo?

YIKES! You mean he is just NOW the CEO? He did all that stuff before he was even official. (yeah, I knew that but can't help shaking in my shoes for what may come next).

On March 20, eBay said it is cutting 125 jobs in North America and Europe, less than 1% of its 15,500-person workforce.

The real question here is, what to 15,000 people do at ebay? Maybe they should get rid of 14,000 of those people and give us a break on our fees. It's not like they actually have customer service anyway.

From the article:
PayPal's runaway success — it racked up $1.9 billion in 2007 revenue, up 40% from 2006 — has compensated for any erosion in eBay's core business, Evans says.

Which is why they will probably never allow Google Check-out. Another way to control us. Question is: Why do they need to control us to the point we search for alternatives?

If they called him "personable" one more time I was going to YACK!

"Google's model is robust and extensible. If you're an auction site, what do you do for the next act?"

I hate to say it, but Google is not the darling of Wall Street any more. Stock dropping like a rock and revenues way, way off.
