When, I was a kid, my best friend had a St Bernard who lost a leg when a pup - it was amazing how he could be so agile with his weight & 3 legs. They lived on a golf course and let him roam around. Everybody loved him, except the golfers; his dog dew was the size of cow piles...

A friend of ours in England used to have a great Dane, it was really ugly, not a bit like this one. It had short hair, and one blue and one brown eye. They lived in a tiny house, and it's food dish was a large roasting pan that took up about half of the kitchen floor. Ours and their children used to ride it like a horse!

St. Bernards are such sweet dogs, but I wouldn't have one. Reason being that my vet said at age 5 they are getting old & their life span is short because of their size.
