Hi, all: This image is going into a book my husband is writing. We'd like some expert opinions on the approximate dates of these cars. We have our own thoughts but need them to be corroborated. Thanks! ~Adele

Oh heck. Stay tuned. I'll get it right yet.

Trying again:

going by some of the Hot Wheels I sell...I would guess that the majority on the right is early 1940s. 1943 Willy - Coupe - Fat Fendered etc. The couple on the left would probably go back into the 1930s.

Do you have a membership on flickr.com? I ask because I posted a glass negative from our collection of an old car on one of the automobile groups. They were able to tell me the exact model and year of a really obscure, no longer existing car manufacturer from 1918.

Third car from the right is a post-war Chrysler product. 46'-47'-48'.
My guess would be immedately following WWII.

Hi

The cars of from the late 1930's and early 1940's.

When you see the fronts of the cars it's easy to name the cars but from the backs is hard.

To the best of my knowledge, any cars made from the start of WWII to 1946 models were sold to and used by the military. Late 1930's cars were nursed thru the war, and into the late 40's.
There are 2 cars in the picture that are post war.

Thanks, everyone. This is very helpful. We too were guessing 30s-40s. The post-war cars will help to date it pretty closely.
