And sometimes your blown away. I sniped & won this auction for 10 pair of shoes for my 2&1/2 year old grandaughter.
The seller says they show some wear & I say they don't, they all look brand new to me. I'm delighted with every pair.
What this post is about is that in the auction the postage was 9.50. The package arrived in record time, with a nice handwritten note from the seller, thanking me for bidding & please contact her if there are any problems. Her actual priority postage was 14.60, a 5.10 mistake on her part.
So what would you do, send her the 5.00 & even a little more to cover her expenses or just let it go.
Edited because I forgot to include the auction link.

Her ad says she is using a flat rate box. I guess they didn't fit, but she could still have saved some money even using the large flat rate.
It sounds like you are so pleased, I would send her the money as a good will offering, very few auctions end this happily. Better products than expected, cheaper postage than in reality, a more than happy buyer and a seller that is not complaining about losing money!!
We should all be so lucky!!

cute shoes! I think I would send her the $5.00 postage shortage and a couple bucks extra to get herself a Starbucks.

It's a great day when you can make someone happy for $5. She didn't try to weasel out of the auction and was gracious every step of the way. You'll feel better too

hey McJane - long time no see
well - what does your heart tell you? We know - or else you wouldn't be here asking that would you?!
I can remember one of my earlier sales and I shipped a juicer to Alaska. Now I "thought" Alaska was USA but what did I know in those early days You know the outcome - it ended up costing 2X as much as I thought it would but the buyer insisted on paying the extra amount once they received the package and saw the postage amount. I tried turning it down saying it was my mistake but they insisted.
It's like when we go out to eat. I was a waitress way way back when it was one of my first jobs. We all know waitresses make nothing and work very hard for tips. I ask my DH - what' a couple of extra $$ to you? To the waiter or waitress it's huge in their day to day, it's nothing to you.
Go on. You know you want to

Mcjane...I had a kinda similar situation today. I had an antique frame & mirror up for bid that I had pick up only on. I had an elderly lady in texas do a bin on it. Her son emailed me and said she was using his account and didn't understand that it had to be picked up. I gave them the option of me trying to have it packed and them paying shipping or I could do a mutual agreement non paying bidder. Since I listed it on the .50 deal I wasn't out a lot of money if I got my fvf back. We did that and he sent me a paypal payment for 7.00 as an apology. I just couldn't make myself keep that 7.00 as I really feel like it was an honest mistake and so I sent it back. I will sleep better tonight knowing I did the right thing and I bet you will too.

Mcjane: Because I'm a softie (and have taught customer service in the past), I would definitely send her the extra money. It's happened a few times for me as a seller, and I'm always just delighted.
I also refund overpayments on shipping if it's more than a couple of dollars.
All we can do, as individuals on this planet, is make our corner of it a little better place.

Definitely send the money. It'll do more for her than just recouping her loss. She'll remember it and you for a long time.

I knew it, I absolutely knew what all of you would say. I don't think there is any message board on the Internet with more integrity, more experts or any that has the willingness to help & to share information that you find here. I think we all have had a similar situation & we all know how good it feels to both buyer & seller do the right thing. I feel very good & thank you all for your wonderful replies.
Hiya glassgrl, your right. Yes, I knew from the start what I was going to do. In fact I am so pleased that I am sending her 10.00 so she can cover postage plus her eBay, PayPal fees with just a little left over.

I would also send the extra money. Like someone else said she will always remember this transaction and know that there are sometimes wonderful buyers.
