Yeah, deurs' got it right, it's an upgrade, way up.
good luck, not that you need any because I know you can do it & you have Greg if you have questions. All I know is that you need different drivers.
Me, have to take the easy way out, swap computers with my son.
You know I was thinking that maybe I would eventually get to like vista after all. I have untill the middle of August to play with it, but hate it more each day. I can't even get my printer HP F2120 to work with it. Whatever I did I almost messed up my computer. It would not install & then couldn't even get on line. I called verizon & they asked me if I was wireless, I am, they said to connect to the router, I did, & at least I'm back on line.
I'm afraid to try anything.
Another thing I hate is the tiny print on message boards. With XP I had no trouble making it larger, much larger.

I'm still working on it
The business installed like a dream. The downside is it wiped everything out and made everything like it is like a new computer. Oh well. That's no biggie.
The problem is I'm working off my TV/computer monitor which I have never ever been able to get the resolution right. Everything is way way too big. I'll have to take my pinch hitter monitor downstairs and hook it up. I downloaded the PDF Microsoft downgrade rights and it scrolled off the screen.
I started installing XP off a really registered XP home disc and got the blue screen of death. Ran virus checker and everything was AOK.
I'm wondering if I didn't read the fine print and have to install XP pro or something. And I kind of think I have that darned HP restore still on a partition on my HD.
I'd really like to figure this out. I'd almost like to buy a new laptop and downgrade the darned thing. I know I don't want Vista. I have too many things that don't work with Vista.

I don't know if this will help. The posts are about downgrading vista to XP. There is a lot of stuff on google about it.
