Almost 5" tall. Stainless Steel and glass. 4 parts to it. On the bottom of the glass cup it says Made in France DURALEX

Not a press, but it could be a coffee maker.

It looks like one of those drip contraptions they use to make Vietnamese iced coffee. The bottom is clearly a coffee or tea glass.

Vietnamese coffee is an intense caffeine/sugar/cream jolt -- try it, you might just like it.

Thanks for all your clues. I believe it is an individual French Press for brewing coffee. After much research I find the bigger ones but no individuals. There was a store in Toronto that carried them but it burned down.

Not French Press - I use French Press daily and that method involves plunging the grounds to the bottom (even on the individual models).

Duralex is tempered glass manufacturer. I would guess the coffee cup is Duralex - the brewing contraption something else.

I read a little about Vietnamese coffee presses and I don't think yours is one of those. The Vietnamese method involves pressing the coffee between two filters at the top and letting the coffee drip through to cup below. Is there a way to screw the top filters together tightly?

Neglus - The top filters don't screw together but the top fits tightly into the bottom part and then they fit into the cup so guess you put the coffee in the bottom sieve and then put the top over it and press down and then put the water over it. There is some printing on the lid but I can't make it out as it is so small. Maybe after I get my cataract op, I can read it.
