Well I have one - only it's not eBay but Amazon. Does that count? I was going to post it anyway so rather than take up another whole thread......
This is kinda icky
I ordered my husband 3 pairs of $$$ golf shoes for Christmas from Amazon. Not a merchant on Amazon but from Amazon itself. They were cheaper than anywhere else on the web or eBay but only certain sizes and colors. If they had your size the price was like $50. otherwise the it jumped to $170 to $250 but discontinued styles so I understood that.
Placed the order and somehow my shipping address turned into my billing address? Fortunately DH was not at home at the time the package arrived. I opened the package and inspected them. One of my favorite pairs out of the 3 have clearly been worn and returned. Big ICK factor! Creases across the top of the shoe. No cardboard shoe trees like the other two have but wadded up tissue paper instead.
I go to Amazon to their help desk to complain and while I'm waiting for Pradeep Dasam (clearly English is not his first language) to get back to me - I find that I can no longer get that shoe in my size. Sheesh.
I have no idea where this is going to end up but I really didn't expect to get a USED shoes from Amazon. And this manufacturer always includes an extra set of spikes with their shoes and there were none in these.

glassgrl...I sell on Amazon also and yeah it is "fun".
Here is an address from a buyer this morning;
###### ########
7 east 7th st, Cooper Union school of architecture, c/o #######
3rd floor school of architecture office
new york city, ny 10003
I think I may have to order LARGER shipping label to fit that on the package!

Not a merchant on Amazon but from Amazon itself.
Could still be a merchant. There are a number of different ways you can sell on Amazon and in some of those methods your merchant name will not appear.
The good news is that Amazon takes these complaints very seriously.

Now I've got Avinash Babu instead of Pradeep Dasam.
Somebody translate this email for me.
"It is certainly not our intention to ship used products to our customers, and we will investigate the origin of this problem.
However, I request you to return the item, we'll refund you in full, including associated shipping costs. Just visit our online Returns Center, which will guide you through the process and even give you a printable return mailing label:
However, we would like to make an exception and refund you 20% of the item cost, if you want to place a new order for the different color shoe with the cost of 149.90. Please write back to us we will issue a refund."
(this is what I told them) The only other shoe in this style (in a different color) in this shoe size is $146.90, not the $65.00 I paid.
See what happens is you go to the shoe...OK it's Ecco and it will say from $50 to $224 or whatever and then you have to choose size and then color and it will block out what the price is. So the same shoe will be either $50 or $146 just depending on the color - crazy right?

ECCO is basically like BUY.com is to eBay.
It is a money maker that runs "above the rules & policies" that smaller sellers have to deal with. No ratings or lowered status worries etc.
Exactly what has happened to our economy...give banks BILLIONS and yet let them go out and SPEND it buying smaller banks...for their own profit
20-30 years ago it was a free vacation or car etc. .... now it is checks with TOO MANY zeros on it for schmoozing with the upper levels of management.

I don't agree - Do you know Ecco? Really? We just had a pair of shoes that we returned and we thought that they would have repaired and they sent him a $225 gift card for a new pair of shoes. It was unbelievable customer service. And they paid shipping both ways.

glassgrl....no I don't know ECCO...that is GREAT that they have that customer service. That is what Amazon wants everyone to be like on their site. Unfortunately they - like eBay - have those buyers that like to take advantag...and "smaller companies" sometimes can not repeatedly process refunds and shipping charges.
