Sheesh I just had a buyer that just paid two days ago wanting to know where his package is. SC to IL ...what ya think 5-7 days parcel post ? Thats what I told him in a e-mail.

I'm pretty sure I'm not listing anything else till after Christmas after this weeks auctions come off tomorrow night,So these people don't expect thier package to magically appear over night.

My last auctions for the year closed a week ago. I'm headed south for the holidays, and didn't want any stragglers messing things up. From now till Christmas the post office will be a mess.
Maybe I can get an early start on taxes this year.

Yesterday I got a 1st class package returned to me in the mail postage due. I had sent it out on the 2nd so it had obviously made it all the way to South Carolina before they sent it back.

The sticker on the envelope was basically accusing me of turning a USPS tyvek envelope inside out. Idiots. It was turned inside out but it wasn't one of theirs or any shipping company for that matter.

So I had to email my buyer with apologies and explanations and make the trip over to the post office and stand in that darn Christmas line to make them re-send the stupid thing. I suggested they might want to upgrade it to express or priority, considering it was their fault, but they didn't go for that suggestion.

The weird thing is, my PO has not had any lines whatsoever yet this year. I have been amazed!!

Hey Stone,Yeah it was a 9 pound skillet .

Edited to add it arrive safely in 4 days. Didn't even leave feedback either and thats pretty fast for parcel post at Christmas time.

I personally would have used UPS for that one. But that said, 4 days is still very reasonable for delivery time. At this point, I would simply let the sleeping dog lie. Don't remind the buyer and they will likely let it pass.

did they pay? is your Post Office close? shouldn't be a problem but then I am one of those compulsive go-to-the-Post-Office-every-day types. Stick to your guns if you have specific days you ship. Off topic..our Post Office branch has no power today so they are running on generator power and the clerks were really cold this morning and I had to pay cash, no credit or debit could be done. They were closed yesterday. Northern Indiana got hit hard by the ice storm, 50% of people in Fort Wayne are without power and expected to be without until Christmas Eve or so.
