Kewl! Good for her.

I have added it to my watchlist but I see it has not made the Pulse yet http://pulse.ebay.com/Clothing-Shoes-Accessories_W0QQsacatZ11450

Come on everyone, add it to your watchlist so she can make the PULSE and reach that reserve price.

Oops, I misread your post and thought YOUR niece has listed them. Oh well, maybe she will use the money for a good cause.

Too bad this gal hasn't learned to spell. A skill she'll probably want to pick up at some point in her life.

Maybe she could use the money to learn how to spell, at least use spell check when writing a description!!

I thought the "outfits" that were purchased for her campaign were going to be sold and the money given to charity.

I'm trying hard to see the sexy. Ummm, no. They look like the shoes one would find on an Oakland streetwalker. AKA the polar opposite of sexy, imo.

"I thought the "outfits" that were purchased for her campaign were going to be sold and the money given to charity."

From the listing (added information):

"Just another note. These shoes were bought in a small store in Juneau, AK. They were NOT paid for by the RNC. They were purchased by Sarah!!!"

The seller included a statement from the store of purchase as well.

zippy2dah: saw the disclaimer about the shoe purchase after I posted. It was not part of the original description.

Still not using spell check!!

I know it wasn't part of the original description. That's why I typed "added information."

I'm weird so that's the stuff I always read first.

I'm surprised that she isn't posting her Q&A's on the listing. I bet she's getting some doozies. When the Q&A's are funny, people do come back to read again and send to a friend etc.

I thought the shipping was reasonable. It's $12 to me from Alaska. I wouldn't trust such a thing to a PM shoebox. They're too flimsy. The shoes would be crowded in a Flat Rate box unless it's the large one which is what now, $13? I wouldn't pay the optional insurance. No need with PP. Let her worry about that.

She's shameless enough to exploit a family member for bucks. I'm surprised she didn't use "well worn" as keywords.

(ICK ACK at the thought of selling my own aunt's well worn anything on eBay.)

Doesn't look like spelling errors, but typos - if it's the real thing, I think it's a great idea. She probably needs the money and her Aunt decided to help her out. I'd love to see her get it. Shipping seems reasonable to me - if you want to make fun of a candidate's relatives - let's go on over to the Round Table and discuss Obama's illegal immigrant Aunt living in Public Housing in Boston.

Probably her neice, but she has 0 feedback, and reserve isn't met. Top bidder has only 1 feedback.

Maybe she could use the money to learn how to spell...

Maybe she went to as many colleges as her aunt.

I doubt that "thee" and the improper use of "to" were "typos". They're errors. Not many make the "thee" error, but a lot make the "to" error. So many, in fact, that it irritates me to no end. What are they teaching in school these days?

Caroline - Most would consider this auction as exploitation. Some would consider it in poor taste given Palin's notoriety. I consider it both. Sorry if you disagree. Obama isn't selling his aunt's belongings on eBay. Hardly the same thing.

What a shame the poor girl is not as smart as all of you. My guess is she is a LOT younger than any of you and when have any of you sold your Aunts old shoes for over $2,000.00 ?

Toolhound: It's true she got good money for those shoes. The thing is, how people represent themselves in print speaks volumes about their training (or their sloppiness) and mistakes make them appear under-educated. That *can* hurt people in their careers or in life generally.

Typos: Thee for Three
Serach engine

Errors: dont for don't
to for too
"me and my aunt" - my aunt and I

Nitpicky? Sure! But didn't people notice? We can't help but notice things like that, if we know better. And people who don't--well, it doesn't matter to them.

For sure I'll tell you that, if I were trying to sell something for very good money on the internet, I'd be more careful, or I'd get someone smart to proof the description for me. ~Adele (Former English teacher and fanatic about the dumbing-down of America.)

Roadsmith: I believe it was "thee" for "the". LOL! An even bigger mistake unless Sarah wears three shoes instead of the normal two.

Toolhound - I don't care how young she is (remember that she has to be at least 18 to sell on eBay), her mistakes attest to the state of most school systems.

"My guess is she is a LOT younger than any of you and when have any of you sold your Aunts old shoes for over $2,000.00 ?"

A better question might be, when have any of us wanted to?

Pimping your relatives (even with their misguided, implicit permission) is a tacky and sleazy thing to do. No amount of money can whitewash tacky and sleazy.

$2K will last her a few months, if that. Self respect and family ties are forever.

I don't understand what age has to do with it either.

Her spelling errors did not irk me as much as many of the others I see on ebay. Some days I wonder if texting has not destroyed the english language. A recent post to this board that had a texting abbreviation in the title irked me every time I saw it.

Personally, I tend to make many typing errors because I have a neuorological problem that scrambles the signal between certain areas of my brain. It affects my thoughts and my ability to express them. I literally cannot discern typing errors while I am writing and have to put some time and space between what I write before I can go back and see the mistakes in what I have written. It is like losing the ability to multi-task. I can read or I can write but trying to do both in a short space of time does not work. This also explains why many of my posts here are often edited.

One of the things you pointed out(Roadie) has always confused those of us who are not English teachers.

"My aunt and I" or "me and my aunt".

Her phrase was "I included pictures of .... of me and my aunt."

I was taught that if you removed the second object "aunt" and completed the sentence, the proper usuage would be "me".

"I have included a picture of I" would not be proper usage. "I have included a picture of me" would be the proper usage.

Also, manners (as I learned them) dictate that you should refer to the other person first so the proper sentence would be "I have included a picture of my aunt and me".

Feel free to me help me with this one as I am sincerely interested in knowing.

*Dang, I had to edit this post too!*

Just browsed some Naughty Monkey shoe listings. They are under $100 new. I seriously doubt my aunt would mind me making a $2k profit in her name but she might have skinned me for making all those typos.

You are right in the use of "my aunt and me". Although the other way sounds better (my aunt and I), the proper way is as you noted.

Cutting down people because they have less education than you is very rude. You do not have any idea if this girl might have learning disabilities or other problems. Probably none of this in your perfect world.
