Hi All,
I posted a few weeks back that my computer got some nasty virus. I had to wait for son to wipe the hard drive clean & reload. Well, he did something so awful that I wished that I still had the damn virus. He repaired my computer BUT...
HE FORGOT TO SAVE MY FAVORITES!!!
It broke my heart!! Oh, yes, dear old mom has been crying becoming a basket case for various reasons. I had about 10 years of favorites that are sorely missed especially all the wonderful sites that I gleamed from this fabulous sharing group of Vendio users.
Can anyone please post some of the sites, like the silver, glass and anything else that I may use from swapmeet or garage shopping. oh God I can't remember all of them but I surely had well over 50 different sites, mostly from this board.
What really burns my butt is that he is so nonchalant about it all. He said that I wasted too much time on the computer.
Thank you,
Mama

Oh..my..I can 100% relate!
As most know, I have also gone through that in the past two weeks with the same result!
My DH somehow lost my 'Favourites' while getting rid of my stubborn deadly virus. He says they are buried somewhere in this hunka metal!
I too have lost all my favourite china & silver sites that I have lovingly saved over the years.
Maybe we can help each other as we go along!

just a note about some of the links in my favs... I keep some of these links to stay on top of what is being reproduced. Links such as http://wholesale-glass-dealer.com/products/products.htm can help collectors stay on top of what is being reproduced.

What a remarkable group of people there are on this board? I would rather come to this board for help than any other place especially Ebay.
thanks again for coming through for me and the others who didn't have these sources.
Now I have to try to reproduce too many other folders but this area was the most important than the others that were lost. Especially when I am selling items for my clients.
It is ironic as I am in the process of setting up my own clothing company to start producing women's garments(I lost 4 folders pertinent to the apparel industry) when this happened. Setting up a business is more than I realized especially when you have to register your company with the government.
As I said, I sat at my computer a few times crying for the loss of so much information.
I RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE THAT THEY SAVE THEIR FAVORITES EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE A VIRUS JUST IN CASE.
Thank you again to everyone that help me here over my loss. It has helped me tremendously in so many ways.
Have a great Super Bowl Sunday.

Get a flash drive. Also known as kazoo drive, thumb drive, USB drive, etc. It's a little jobbie that plugs into a USB port on your computer.
Couldn't be easier to use. Plug it in, click on its icon, drag your files there. Most come with software but you don't even have to use it. When you're done copying your files, unplug it and toss it in a drawer.
Flash drives are cheap. Some companies give them away at trade shows.

We use Foxmarks, the Firefox add-on. It saves your bookmarks between several computers and transfers them all to any new computer. It's handy in case you have a computer failure.
