I had a Korean coin end on Jan 20. It sold for less than it was worth. Anyway, before it ended I was getting emails from one bidder requesting a larger photo. Apparently, he didn't understand that all you needed to do what click on the one in the auction. I reiterated that to him, explaining it in detail. I also explained the condition stating that you can see a small scratch in the photo. I didn't hear back and he won the auction.
I then get this email from him on Jan 31, 11 days after the auction closed and right after I filed a dispute:
hello
I am sorry for late email.
I was forien country.
I can pay for it . but when I receive it, I will return right away because,
(1) you didn't explain about coin condition.
(2) the picture was too small to identify.
and If I return it, you and I will lose some
money
If you want to pay contineousely, I will pay.
But you expect rurn it.
Please let me know both win method.
Thank you
In my eyes, that sealed the deal. Now, I got an email yesterday letting me know that he paid for the auction. I refunded the money right away stating that I canceled the auction due to his email and the fact that more than 10 days had passed. He emails me again this morning begging for the coin and telling me he won't return it. He has not responded to the unpaid item dispute.
I sent him yet another email in response to his begging me to send the coin. I sent it as a response to the one where he stated he'd just return the coin and I'd be out money. I again told him I canceled the transaction. Would you have gone ahead and sent it or did I do the right thing?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he doesn't respond to the dispute. That way if he decides to be a stinker and leave me a negative, I can have it removed. In one email I told him he was blocked and he responded by saying that's fine, but I have no right to set market values. Huh? I have no idea what he meant by that.

Leave the dispute, and move on. Keep his messages and use them if he causes trouble. Avoid any unnecessary contact with them that would cause them to reply to the dispute. That way they can't leave negative feedback either. You stated your terms, they didn't follow them, and then they threatened to return the item without any cause other than their own stupidity.
