I had a newbie buyer over pay on shipping, and when I went to refund the difference, I accidentally refunded the whole amount. I tried to change it, but is seems once it has gone through, it's too late. I know it's going to cause confusion, I have really messed up on a couple of my sales in the last couple of days.
I am not concentrating very well, we had bad news yesterday that the 5 year old daughter of our nephew in England died after a routine tonsillectomy, and it is so sad. They had tried to many years to get pregnant, and she was the joy of their lives. I have to keep up on my sales, but obviously my mind is not on it, because I keep making mistakes.
Does anyone know if it's possible to retract a refund?

Yes I have done that and sent a new invoice, but nothing so far. Originally I sent her the wrong email, so I feel I made a real mess of it.

You could also pull her contact info and give her a call. I have made the same mistake before, several times actually.
Calling the customer has always worked out well for me.

Sorry for your loss.
If it's not much money and you have already shipped maybe you should just forget about it and take some time for yourself.

Thank you, no, I have not shipped, this all happened today. I keep thinking I am okay, and then I do something like losing the tea kettle, and then finding it in the fridge. I don't like to get behind on my sales, it is much easier to keep it organized when they come in.

i'd call and let them know you can't send the item until they resend payment. if they make it out like they've already paid and don't show a refund, i would leave it alone and let it slide. Take the small FVF hit and relist it down the road.
stress complicates things. i suggest taking a break, find something else to do, and then come back to it better than ever. i like to have a small group of auctions ready for listing in case of an emergency. it helps when something like this happens, or if you suddenly need a burst of cash.
