Diamond sellers, probably. There are a bunch of new ones. I believe all 50 of the sellers who were wined and dined in Long Beach recently were Diamonds.

My guess is listings from sellers from the Pacific Rim (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc)

I wonder if the auctions counts are even worth much for measuring listing success now.

I would think the sell through averages would have dropped significantly with all the new diamond listings but it that is the case, it is not being reflected in site counts.

The 30 day listing feature pretty much makes the old sale through metrics useless as well.

I posted this same question just before Christmas and someone posted this and whoever it was, was correct.

The jump in listings happened at the same time eBay went to the 30 day format for fixed price items. Since they last longer, they don't drop from the counts as soon, in turn boosting item counts.

"BIN is still 7 days". Huh? Most people I know list BIN core items for 30 days.

Opps, I stand corrected. The BIN is 30 days now.

There is also the "Good Til Cancelled" option. That might be increasing the listings count also.

There seems to be an increase of sellers who are selling ten's of thousands of virtually the same exact item.
