Just got an email that Auctiva will begin charging for their services. Did not look into the details yet.

I just looked and it is not great!
The biggest problem I think I would find it 1mb of free picture storage only!

I do not use any plan that charges a % of the sale transaction fee, that is why I left Vendio. I pay too many people already. I will just go directly through Ebay as I do for most of my auctions already. I only used Auctiva if I had a lot detail and wanted to upload many pics.

It had to happen, Vendio used to be free, but I don't see how companies can offer their services for nothing.

You had to know it was coming.
Just like your friendly corner drug dealer, it's free till you're hooked.

Well, I'm hooked on Vendio. Makes life easier for me. I think Roady will agree.

I've never used them but I know a few people who have and I'm sure they will be disappointed.

At least the items being sold on eCrater appear in a Google Product Search.

hello
well i have to respond to this, especially the remark about President Obama: these companies both make money via their arrangements with ebay. Yes, they were making money. Ebay made some changes, however, which cut into auctiva's income.
So it has nothing to do with President Obama.
I too am an auctiva refugee. I agree, nobody is in business to lose money. They are doing it to make money; auctiva was very generous.
My grievance is auctiva's 11th hour actions. I worked like a dog on my store. I am a affiliate with a software company and boy I had to put in so many links and they all had to be precise. I also use video i uploaded to youtube and it ain't easy because auctiva just splatters its html across the page. It's a chore dealing with it.
I cancelled my store when I saw auctiva's new fees; no way can i afford both and a store isn't going to generate money overnight. then within ten days they flip flopped and that change was dramatic in its fees.
I think auctiva could have given people more notice. It was great in giving us free templates and image hosting, but we also provided them with free advertising on our auctions and an arrangement with ebay which provided them income, also. Auctiva coudl have given its customers more notice.
I figure, though, the third is going to be a charm for me: I had my first "store" through ioffer which gets NO buyer traffic but by God I learned how to upload to google base and that was no small thing for me. While using auctiva I got a ton of practice creating, uploading and embedding my youtube videos so (I rationalize) it wasn't a total waste. Ebay's html is so much easier to work with; and yes there is a difference in presentation.
I feel my vendio store is going to be the charm. Yes, we will be charged of course nobody is in business for free but at least vendio has given the Vendio platform enough time to get our stores off the ground before charging us. I also have an amazon account and anythign there free is big because AMAZON'S fees are abusive, personally.
good luck to us all,
gmt

Have you looked into Yahoo shopping, nice format but Yahoo does not do any promotion for us,if it does it is for a fee and is worthless, but the Yahoo format is nice and it is 39.95 a month.

Does anyone know if you need to do anything to cancel Auctiva. I have only used their services a few times. They do not have a CC on file of mine. I have never paid them anything, but do I need to cancel in some way to avoid getting a bill??
