I had someone buy an ad on July 24th to decorate bathrooms. They indicated they would like to buy several more items would I combine shipping?

Yes, of course. So, then the requests start coming in. Can they have a better scan of this one. What does that one say?

Then they buy a second ad. More time passes, I send an invoice via Paypal. No, they want to buy 3 or 4 more. Will I give a discount. I say sure. Time passes and the oldest ad gets automatically submitted to dispute. They freak out! 7 emails via ebay messaging begging me to undo the dispute. I am thinking one thing only: negative feedback is coming. What to do?

Now, a month later, they are dickering about the price, want something for free. They have great feedback from other sellers whom they seem to be paying promptly. Evidently they were able to discern the Welcome Mat on my chest.

I'm old enough to know better. The net result of this will be negative feedback for me and a sharp ding to the stars. Thanks for the vent.

"They have great feedback from other sellers"

Sure they do as sellers can't leave a neg.

Niel 35 is right. Buyers feedback is meaningless now. I pay no attention to it at all as it has been completely devalued.

I agree, every buyer now has 100% feedback and it's meaningless.
vintagead4u: I have done the same thing in the past, especially with repeat buyers, and then got stung.

Well, now this is odd. eBay just agreed to cancel a transaction from this buyer and states that I requested the transaction canceled today and that the buyer agreed.

Uh...I didn't do that. I have purposely stayed away from this customer today.

Hmmmmm....

I've done it too. So you didn't start the dispute - eBay did? Can you opt out of that?

I have no idea. And I've heard from them about 5 more times today with just crazy talk.

After 11 years on eBay these are the worst folks I've ever seen.

Soon they won't be able to leave a negative if they haven't paid. So if they do leave a negative I would request that ebay remove it - you may be pleasantly surprised.
That is one change coming soon that actually makes sense.

The automatic dispute can cause problems. Ebay says we cannot advertise that we accept other forms of payments, but if a buyer requests paying via cash or money orders, that is acceptable and Ebay (Big Brother) would have no record of that.

What about local pick ups?? I only accept cash for those occasional romps.

And, buyer feedback is pretty much a dead issue. They should do away with it.

All of this automated stuff is for the birds. I recently had a buyer in Finland buy and pay and I shipped the next day. Yesterday, I got an email from this buyer telling me that he will leave feedback for me as soon as he gets the item. It is in response to an automated feedback reminder that Ebay sent him 7 days after the item was shipped yet it ignored the fact he was in Finland! No Thanks! I'll opt out of the automation and do as I always have. I'll watch my items and once delivered and no feedback after a couple days then send the reminder on my own!I don't need buyers thinking I'm getting pushy when it is Ebay!

I don't see where you can opt out of these automated emails. Any help would be appreciated.
