The bottom has an orange peel look to it which would help to date it. I believe it is very old but I don't know if that would add to the value or not. Someone will know.

I don't it could be Chinese. As I don't read either, I am hoping someone can tell me what the writing on the bottom is.

the writing is so smeared you cant figure what it said.
My guess is it is Chinese based on the design,crudely made and shipping will be more than what the teapot is worth.
Chinese can make things look old,how old do you want it to be?

Thank you guys, I appreciate your help and advice. The teapot is crudely made, it came from the home of friends of ours in their late 80's, most of the things belonged to their parents, so I know it's old, but that saying, it does not make it valuable.
Max: I appreciate the thoughts on the bowl, I think you are right. It is so hard with glass because it is rarely marked.
