Bidder bought an item from me on Sunday. FB rating 1.

No response, no payment. I wasn't really concerned about that, as it seems to be the norm lately... until I checked her feedback and noticed the lone FB came from another seller who sold her a very similar item on the same day, and she obviously paid for it since they left her feedback already.

Should I relist it after the 3rd day (my description states contact/payment confirmation needs to be made within 3 days) and then go through the motions of a dispute as the time comes.

WWYD?

I'd wait and do it by the book. If the deadbeat buyer happened to see it relisted, he could be a pita.

I'd wait too. Maybe the buyer wanted two? Buyers can do weird things so I'd follow procedures to the letter to avoid any disputes later.

File on the 4th day a NPB claim,

Timeline:

Ebay contacts the buyer immediately after you open the case.
*

The buyer has 4 days from the time you opened the case to pay.

If the buyer doesn't pay within 4 days, you can close the case and an unpaid item may be recorded on the buyer's account.

Then you can relist the item.

tonimar1 - they have 4 days to pay once you open a case but how long do you have to give them before opening a case? Is that now 4 days as well?

yes, you wait 4 days then file, then wait another 4 days and close the case and get your fvf back

excellent. i sent her another invoice to nudge her. maybe she'll pay or at least respond so i know i can relist it.

the problem i have in this is that ebay forces sellers into stupid situations like this. we paid to list it and someone comes along, uses buy it now and then doesn't pay for it. in this case, ebay should be refunding the seller both fvf and listing fees... and then taking it out on the buyer.

we pay ebay, not the buyers. why should we eat it when they allow people like this on their system.

i've already committed to starting my own website for next year. once i am done with setting everything up, i will be moving to my own e-commerce and only use ebay to drive people to my site. i'm tired of this BS of irresponsibility by ebay and their bidders.

I had a buyer in Malta who didn't contact me for cost of shipping as it stated in my auction. She paid and added 2.00 for shipping saying that it didn't state cost of shipping to Malta. Oh, sure shipping to Malta is cheaper then to ship in my own Country..lol I buyer like this we don't need.

I returned her paypal payment and sent her a correct invoice with the cost of shipping and she never responded, so on the 4th day I filed NPB and on the 8th day I filed for my fees and she got a strike. I don't bother sending more then one invoice, I just file because I have no patience to deal with buyers that don't pay.

And your right about Ebay they should refund your listing fees & FVF since it's not your fault she bid and didn't pay.

Here is a link to the page that it shows what I listed below

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/unpaid-items.html

*

You can open an unpaid item case in the Resolution Center as early as 4 days after the sale and up until 32 days after the sale if you don't receive payment from the buyer.
*

The buyer has up to 4 days send payment after the case is opened. During this time the buyer can also contact you to request a payment extension or another arrangement. Of course you can agree to the buyer's request, but you're not obligated to make special arrangements.

Ebay which is 'just a venue' sure is not shy telling us how to run our business!
I hate that option of giving to charity waving in my face when I list an item, how about removing that?

i just filed the NPB. thanks for the heads up. i have been saying that waiting more than 3 days is absurd. what i don't like is the 8 day wait (still better than 14). It should be 6 so that we can relist it on the 7th day (this is most effective for 7 day auctions, which is the most typical length... i think). anyhow, it is a major step in the right direction.

now start refunding sellers their listing fees when someone flakes on payment and that would make things even better.
