Just wanted to let Ralphie know that I found his great x 50 grandpa on a Christmas postcard from 1907. Bostons were a bit more svelte in those days!

How cute, neglus! Looking at the tree with candles, I'm amazed more homes didn't burn down at that time. Geesh, can you imagine putting lit candles on your tree, especially with dogs and cats running about?

Speaking of scary Christmas tree candles, this one creeps the jollys out of me.

Cheryl - My husband is from Switzerland and in the early years of our marriage we did put candles on our tree - I was always a nervous wreck the whole time they were lighted. I finally hid the candles! Now we fill the fireplace with candles - same lovely glow and SO MUCH safer!
