Where has everyone gone that use to post on this board? This was the best place to get information and learn about eBay.
Is there another message board that is better? Not that this is a bad message board just not enough people to get good opinions.

I often think the same. I miss Jack, with his emails all in CAPITALS, also bizzycrocheting, and Tom and Ralphie of course, plus some more recent absentees. I am afraid that I am an "asker", not an "answerer" in most cases.

Wow..I always get great help here. I'm more of a lurker and "asker" because I'm still learning and a slow learner I might add, but I think this is a wonderful source of good information. Anytime I've had a problem and asked for help it has been there for me. I'm totally grateful to the people here. Thanks again for all your help!!!

Neglus and I were remembering past posters we miss this AM. I'm sure most have evolved away from eBay (as have many of our buyers). I hope they are well, prosperous and happy in their life after eBay.

There may not be as many of us now but we are all REALLY GREAT people!
All fun aside though, I agree that I do miss many of the folks who used to have words of wisdom. I was thinking a few days ago about 'cashinyourcloset' and 'sparkz' and many others.
Like pixiamom said, people have moved on which is what life is all about....but sad.

There is a new group of sellers on Ebay, those who have brick and mortar stores or who have closed their store and now selling online.
You can tell from their merchandise and their starting bid.
I also see domestic and overseas dealers claiming they are mere collectors scooping up great deal, they have sharp eyes!

Well, I sure appreciate you all. When I ask a question, there is always someone, sometimes several who do their best to answer, and I really appreciate that.

We've picked up some new users but many have gone.
If some of you oldie are out there lurking - remember you don't have to sell on ebay to post here. We enjoy your input.

Maybe we should start a "Hall of Fame" of favorite posters and favorite threads. Mikes4x4 secret compartment would top my list.

I think the E Gold dealer who was taken to court by Paypal is the most interesting one.

The E gold dealer case must be 5 years old?
There is another case where the antique furniture dealer delivered a piece of furniture to some dealer who refused delivery and everyone urged her to go to court, she did and got nowhere?
Also a lawyer who came to this board looking for sellers who sold designer gowns to some Eastern European buyer who paid with bad credit card via Billpoint, one seller said she lost 30k worth of goods and her business was in jeopardy.
And a single mother approached by a NY jeweler who offered to list his better jewrlry using her Ebay account, one day he hacked into her Paypal account ,removed all the money and shipped nothing .

My absolute favorite thread of all times was the one about the "Van Gogh" painting that was listed on "Old and Sold" (at least I think that was the name of one of those flash in the pan sites that was going to drive eBay out of business). It was started by Hart Cottage Quilts (she is one of the posters I really miss). It went on for weeks and was like a soap opera with the seller of the painting ranting and threatening and posting "proof" after "proof" that this lame flower painting was really by Van Gogh. I rushed home from work every day for the latest installment.

Yes, I see it was not Hart Cottage Quilt who started the thread but my memory is that she really got up the nose of the seller of the painting later in the thread. I'll bookmark to read when I have some time.

Vendio's homepage doesn't link directly to the community boards anymore (unless you are signed in), so fewer random web traffic, which probably has affected viewership and subsequently less people joining the boards.
Also, having it mandatory to have a current credit card on file has likely driven some posters away.
