Hey everyone , I need help with this stone/gem if it possible from just a picture. Its green-ish blue-ish with specks of rust red and purple around the lighter color towards the bottom.....maybe some kind of agate ? Thanks

My first thought was a Moss Agate but I am no expert!
Very pretty piece.

Thanks for the suggestions so far ! I looked at all the stones on eBay for moss agate and zoisite and neither look just right but close. The piece is a Tane orfebres signed Mexico piece if that helps any.

I'm certainly no expert, but coming from Mexico, my first guess would be turquois.

It appears to be gem silica.

I would take it to a jeweler if I were you - you will want to list the gram weight as well and they could help with that.
I once sold a small nut dish by Tane for over $100 so you could have a really important piece. What does the chain look like?
I think it is embedded with crystal.

I like turquoise and recall reading that some stones have a bits of quartz mixed in depending on where it was mined. If this stone is turquoise and it sure looks like it could be, the reddish flecks maybe copper.

Lovely! My vote is for gem silica because the majority of the stone looks like Chrysocolla and can be found mined in Mexico.
I would list it as Chrysocolla which is likely to be the more popular search term than gem silica.
Found these 2 pieces jewelry pieces from Tane that give a little insight into the company:

I agree that gem silica is the closest stone so far. I plan on taking it to a gem store we have in town here. Very small hole in the wall store. I'm hoping the owner knows his rocks and is not just one of those order this from a book type . If I can't get any help there we would have to travel an hour or so in either directions. I have a dear uncle who is in the hospital with cancer and is not doing well so between him and work I just don't have any time right now.

OK , hubby went to the little shop downtown today that sell gem rocks. He said the stone was howlite and quartz. From what I read howlite can be dyed any color you want it to be. Color of choice is blue to look like turquoise.
